In the bit you refer to I had shifted away from the specific (Tigers) to the general (team managements in general). Do you actually consider Torkelsons '23 to be 'turd'. If Parker’s out for months at a stretch, that might well torpedo our playoff chances, because we were really counting on him to take a step forward all year long and put up maybe three or more wins. Riley's the only guy close to Parker's jump and he doesn't have as much closing speed and they don't want to play him there more than part time anyway. Until Parker is back I'm going to guess he gets moved over there in the 7th for defensive purposes in a close lead game on a regular basis though. Also worried about Wenceel's propensity to be involved in collisions if he is out there a lot. Kriedler is probably the 'safest' option but you know he's not going to hit so even if they start him out there they are going to have to give it up. Edited March 15 by gehringer_2 Quote

casimir Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I like the idea of floating Baez around defensively right now. It’s good to see what he can offer. Spring training is a harmless time to do so. He’s not going to be cut. He’s going to be on the roster. As bad as he’s been, I want to see if better health to start this season does anything for him. Getting your highest paid player to buy into the philosophy of being used wherever needed whenever needed is good for the team psyche. Gleyber Torres, please take note of this. 1 Quote
