The international signee from about a decade ago, what's his name, he always seems to be forgotten in these conversations yet last year he got into 114 games and did pretty good.  I think Hinch would go to him as the 1st replacement option.

Yeah, I am pretty sure Perez is making the team and will play frequently now that Vierling is not going to be available for opening day.

I don’t see Greene playing any significant time at CF.  They don’t want to increase his chance of injury.  I think it’ll be Wenceel and McKinstry, if necessary, but wouldn’t rule out the likelihood that they go and acquire a Jake Marisnick-type to fill in.

I don't like to hear about nerve issues.  There is often a lot of uncertainty in diagnosis and repair.

I’ve had nerve issues and it took a lot of time to heal in both an elbow and a shoulder. Of course I’m old and everything takes longer now.

I've had a nerve problem in my lower leg for two years,  It was originally believed to be sciatica, but an MRI revealed it's not my back.  They've also ruled out all the serious known nerve issues like Parkinsons and MS.  My theory is the nerve gets pinched either at my knee or foot and I get flareups.

My wife had a knee replaced in early November. Her biggest complaint right now is that there is still occasional nerve pain in her leg as the nerves regenerate.

I have metal in both arms from an open reduction of a lft humerus fx and a distal bicep tendon rupture in my rt arm..over a decade of nerve damage in both.  The nerves...they're such...bastards

What if Javy Baez goes something like 2 for 30 this spring and strikes out half the time? 

Would they still bring him North?

Yeah,  not comfortable with Ryan Kreidler being our backup because AJ came out and pretty much closed the door on Riley playing Center.   Too bad Carpetner or Malloy can't do it.     They seem to have quite a few guys who really can't field on this team.  

Trying to scour to see if any remaining Free Agent CFers are out there.    I don't think we're going to see Meadows or Vierling for quite some time.  

Alex Verdugo is still out there.

Yes, it seems SHarris & co. need to come up with another MLB type player. As you mentioned Verdugo. WMerrifield is still out there... Maybe a deal, someone like SMarte possibly. Though he is at 20 Mil or so, but they might be willing to pay down quite a bit if we give them a decent prospect (No, not top 10 per say). He could help - RHB, can play decent D still (all 3 OF positions), has some speed, etc.

Maybe a waiver claim?

Depth is sooo important!

this sounds painfully familiar but I'm only up to about 6 months and it does seem to be improving but ridiculously slowly. It's not lumbar sciatica here either, the back is fine. As you suspect in your case - I think I compressed or over stretched it on a long ride late last summer.

I would think if Vierling and Meadows are only going to be out for the short term, they’ll likely just go with Perez in CF, maybe with a waiver claim as a backup.  I’m not sure Merrfield or Marte are CF options.  Verdugo could be, but I wouldn’t think he’s a target unless they feel the need for a longer term option.  Actually, Verdugo has played only 15 innings of CFthe past 3 seasons, all of which were last season.

Alright, so maybe there’s just some short term in house patch work to get through a few weeks.

He had Tommy John last year, so he can go straight on the 60-Day IL and potentially be a late season option.

The Tigers have an option for 2026 in the Urquidy deal, so he could be valuable next year afer Cobb, Maeda and Flaherty leave.
