NYLion Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) 1 hour ago, Sports_Freak said: 94%? This includes the play-in. With less than 30 games left, the Pistons are 9 games ahead of the Nets, 8.5 games ahead of the Bulls, 4 games ahead of the Hawks, 3 ahead of both Orlando and Miami. It would take a collapse of epic proportions to finish behind all of those teams and miss altogether. Edited February 23 by NYLion Quote
Sports_Freak Posted February 23 Posted February 23 That ally opp to Duren last game was amazing. The ball was thrown poorly but he made a one hand slam from behind. It was like....WOW! Quote
Hart Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Should not have put Ausar on Trae Young. Not worth the risk of foul trouble. If you want him to guard Trae in crunch time, that is fine. But the rest of the game, it's just not worth it. Quote
Hart Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Cade's been cooking tonight but he can't go 1 on 3 or 1 on 4. Pistons are falling into that trap a little too often. Quote
Hart Posted February 24 Posted February 24 We just cannot have Ausar in foul trouble. Maybe we don't score as many points with him but we lose a lot more on defense without him than anything we might gain on offense with an extra shooter on the court. 1 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I don't like Young. Not because he's so freakin' good but he seems like a wiseass. What is it about Atlanta? We shouldn't struggle so bad against them. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Pistons had 3 players attempt 10 treys and make more than 50% of them. That's not your everyday occurrence. Quote

RandyMarsh Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I remember saying it on draft night when he wore the ridiculous suit with shorts look how punchable I thought his face was. So yeah don't know what it is about him but I always disliked him and thought he just was annoying looking as hell. Quote
NYLion Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Good win but one gripe of mine is putting Ausar on Trae early and getting him in foul trouble. They struggled defensively without him, I would have played Ausar on somebody else to start the game then switch him on to Trae in the 4th. 1 Quote
Deleterious Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I didn't watch. But I would absolutely put Thompson on him from the jump. Stop babying people and test them. This is a great teaching moment and should be used. If it was a playoff game then OK, I get it. 1 Quote

Some days the refs won't let you play physical, other days they will, and the latter will increase as your reputation for being a tough defender increases (see: Draymond). The more you play him against those guys the more he'll learn and the more the NBA will swallow the whistle. Both are very important long term to a guy who's primarily on the floor due to his defense. Quote

A couple those fouls came when Trae got past Thompson, and Ausar then ran over him on the trail because he didn't anticipate Trae's little stutter step. Definitely something he needs to learn. And in general, he needs to accept that once his man is past him there is a limit to what he can do. He gets caught overplaying trying to make it up when he's been passed, and you just have to learn to accept that you can't do that. His agility is something else to watch though - he's like a big cat out there. 1 Quote
