buddha Posted Wednesday at 02:39 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:39 AM sell and call up some kids. the thing is, what do they have that they would WANT to sell that other teams might want to buy? kane? chariot? what else? i think its more likely they make a small depth trade than sell kane for a middling draft pick. ben9753 Posted Wednesday at 04:55 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:55 PM Seems like every year they get close enough to sniff the playoffs and then choke. Never rise to the occasion. Getting tired of it. At this point I say blow it all up. We've been running on the hamster wheel of mediocrity for too long. Quote

Yeah it wasn't just last year, it was the season before when a disastrous back to back against Ottawa just before the deadline led to Yzerman abandoning the season. Is the Wings' depth so lacking that even an injury to a middling player like Copp can send them downwards? At least last year the slide coincided with the loss of captain Larkin. Is it goaltending hitting the wall this time of year due to defense all year not being strong enough? Anyways, I'll try not to overreact just yet. It has only been 3 games. But picking up 0 of 6 available points this time of year is killer, especially when 2 of the 3 games were at home and when 2 of the 3 games were against teams at the same level. Hongbit Posted Wednesday at 08:34 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:34 PM Wings get a 4th for just taking on a bit of contract Quote
Hongbit Posted Wednesday at 08:36 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:36 PM Seems like an overpay but TB loves Gourde from his time there. They must feel he’s their missing piece. Quote

Hongbit Posted Wednesday at 09:40 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:40 PM There goes any chance of the Wings trading for him at the deadline. 😆 Quote
slothfacekilla Posted Wednesday at 10:17 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:17 PM Isn't that like his third or so shoulder injury? Awful luck Quote
slothfacekilla Posted Thursday at 06:41 PM Posted Thursday at 06:41 PM Auston Watson got a 1 year extension from the Wings, two way contract. From what I read he's good with the kids down there and Soderblom can credit his current NHL stint to him getting Elmer to use his body more. Quote
Shinzaki Posted Thursday at 06:45 PM Posted Thursday at 06:45 PM Would love to see Elmer with a legit playmaking C Quote
lordstanley Posted Thursday at 07:40 PM Author Posted Thursday at 07:40 PM I’m confident that Tarasenko is still good enough offensively to score goals against high schoolers. 1 Quote
