If Maeda and Mize look good all Sping, I think that Jobe will start the season in the bullpen as a way to limit his innings. I don't see him going to Toledo.

rather have him in toledo on starter's schedule then on a bullpen schedule

I don't have a preference, but the flip side is that he would benefit from facing major league hitters.  The team would also get a draft pick if he accrues one year of service time and wins Rookie of Year.

I’m pretty confident Jobe will come in as a fourth starter, and that the fifth slot will be up to Mazda or Mize to win it. I think Mazda is the favorite since, believe it or not, Mize is still optionable.

Crazy thought but Maeda's strikeout #'s/9 seem to indicate possible late inning reliever if he can maintain 91-92. I think he could end up in short relief.

You may be on to something. His career splits indicate that Mazda does seem to be stronger against the first hitters he faces, especially in relief. This might be an indication that the contrast between his stuff and the stuff of the pitcher he relieves is substantial enough to flummox batters out of the gate.

It's the rotary engine, they've always had lubrication issues on sustained use.

Mazda. I like it. We now have McStinky, Captain Jack and Mazda. And I guess Tork. Seriously Mazda pitched great in relief for the Dodgers and his velo in short relief should sustain year long. Could prolong his career as well.

Harris may have found a very good arm in Hanifee. His numbers from last season kinda surprised me and he's picking right back up this spring. That pitching chaos really got some of these guys valuable experience.

Ahhhhh...calling Maeda, Mazda, is the 2025 version of me giving driveway weather updates in 2024. Somebody else gets to wear the crown this season. 🤣🤣
