Man, seeing that lineup and bench on paper, that looks a lot weaker that we thought it would couple months ago.

yup - We can hope Torres puts up some big numbers, but C & 3B are going to be weak bats along with CF any day Riley isn't there.

The pitching staff is so strong and deep that, if they stay healthy for the most part, we'll be a top five staff in all of baseball. So, that by itself is going to make the early going interesting.

I'd be satisfied taking one of three in LA.

f they stay healthy for the most part,

There was a story the other day (ESPN?) about the Royals to the effect that they are working a program to try and improve their pitchers' health - one the things they are pushing is to get their pitchers to use more change of speed to their advantage - i.e. don't throw max effort all the time. I could only think of Skubal as I read that and wished it was something he would do. I've always tended to the belief that one of the reasons JV lasted so long was that he used his top end judiciously early in his career - always a lot of variation within his 4 seam fastball - though in a recent interview I saw, even JV himself has wondered whether he would be able to have the same success pitching the way he did when he came up if were coming up today.

Tigers Acquire Brewer Hicklen From Brewers. No for real.

Next we can acquire a guy nicknamed Red from Cincinnati, a dude name Ray from Tampa and a Latino named Angel from L.A.

Hope this doesn't linger cause after all baseball is a game of oblique angles and injuries.(Bonus points if you know this reference)

In my head I hear Tim McCarver's voice saying the line but I have no idea if it was his or he was just repeating it.

Yep! It was in regards to Vmart in the 2011 playoffs. My friends and I who were watching together started cracking up and it's still a bit of an inside joke to us to this day. Was hoping somebody on here would remember it.
