chasfh Posted March 27 Author Posted March 27 The pitching staff is so strong and deep that, if they stay healthy for the most part, we'll be a top five staff in all of baseball. So, that by itself is going to make the early going interesting. I'd be satisfied taking one of three in LA. 2 Quote
chasfh Posted March 27 Author Posted March 27 The FanGraphs staff is giving the slight edge to the Tigers to win the AL Central: Even though the projected standing on the site have the Tigers two games behind the Twins. https://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=Standings 2 Quote

I could only think of Skubal as I read that and wished it was something he would do. I've always tended to the belief that one of the reasons JV lasted so long was that he used his top end judiciously early in his career - always a lot of variation within his 4 seam fastball - though in a recent interview I saw, even JV himself has wondered whether he would be able to have the same success pitching the way he did when he came up if were coming up today. Yep! It was in regards to Vmart in the 2011 playoffs. My friends and I who were watching together started cracking up and it's still a bit of an inside joke to us to this day. Was hoping somebody on here would remember it. Quote
