We had another player who was once a great young athlete but could hardly put one foot in front of the other without tripping in the OF by the time he was 26. yes, it was Is that the play in Chicago? Oh my god, cue the Benny Hill yakety sax music. I thought Dave Collins was a terrible outfielder and then I saw Delmon Young play. Quote

The offense showed a pulse. Hopefully we don’t get swept. I’d like to come home with. 2-4 record. Briske didn’t have a good spring and obviously isn’t starting out good. He might be on his way to Toledo sooner than later. We will see how much rope Hinch will give pitchers especially if guys like Foley are doing good. Quote

And Hinch kept running him out there....but...but...he was better... Quote

The problem is playing some of these teams before they know they suck is dangerous. I mean, yeah, the Dodgers are the best team money can buy but the WSox? They're undefeated and more than likely on their way to a 100+ loss season....again. But in the early season, they're not run down by negativity yet. Quote
SoCalTiger Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) Base running is important and played LARGE in these two losses. But it's correctable. I am more encouraged than disappointed. Long season. Edited March 29 by SoCalTiger 2 Quote

Relievers are notoriously up and down from year to year, understandable considering how few innings they pitch. I was not a fan of Brieske until last season. His performance before that was simply not good, and I advocated for his hitting the bricks. Maybe he can shake it off and turn it around here. He’ll get the chance to. Quote

I like that Harris has not acquired any expensive relievers. I also like that Hinch does not rely too much on any one reliever and is not a slave to traditional roles. Relievers come and go, so you have to figure out which ones have the hot hand in a given year and be ready to pivot when they lose it. Quote
Tigermojo Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Just received an email from MLB.tv apologizing for their poor service last night. They want to give me $10 off any purchase of $25 or more in the MLB shop. I have to pay for the apology. 2 Quote
