Maybe if things go sour fast in April, it will at least be the end of Maeda and Baez.

Maeda maybe…but they don’t have anyone to play shortstop…Baez will be here.

The league really hurt the Tigers with this scheduling.     Why aren't the Dodgers playing a rival or divisional foe to start the real season.    Then we have to go to Seattle where we always struggle.     Might be starting out 0-6 while playing halfway decent baseball.

It doesn't help that our pitchers have to throw it right down the middle to get a strike and theirs don't.

I know the pitch-framing catchers (and Rogers is one of the best) would lose a lot of value, but they can't implement the ABS.

Tigers were getting squeezed the whole series and then that play at the plate.   I thought you needed CLEAR evidence to overturn a call?

This league wants the Dodgers to set a record.   They want that 117 for their big star (who illegally gambled).

The Dodgers are paying over $300 million for those victories. They need to be kept happy.

Swept in the series, but they were definitely in the first two games.  Not being able to capitalize with runners in scoring position has been an issue, and I dare say game three might have been different had Sasaki been justifiably booked with a few more runs before his short night was over.

On to Seattle.

They have to get back into the chaos inflected games where they control the mode. Can't do that in L.A. Hinch and the pitching coach has to be mad scientists spinning their webs and turning the dials of their chaos computers vs. mere mortal baseball players. The season starts this week.

I don’t know if having Meadows or Verling in the lineup would make much difference at least against the Dodgers.

Perhaps if either were running for Margot that run in game 2 counts because of better baserunning and the game doesn't go into extras.  But that's possibly too much assumption for one play.  I don't think OF defense in their absences was an issue, so there's that.

I guess on the flip side it could be said that their injuries allowed Torkelson to be with the team.  Difficult to assume either or both of Vierling/Meadows would have matched Torkelson's 1.532 OPS in the series.
