SoCalTiger Posted Sunday at 03:48 PM Posted Sunday at 03:48 PM Our pitching and base running wasn't good enough. Pretty simple analysis. Quote
Tigermojo Posted Sunday at 03:51 PM Posted Sunday at 03:51 PM No game on a Sunday. Dodgers ruin everything. Quote

1776 Posted Sunday at 03:56 PM Posted Sunday at 03:56 PM Blowing game two in the bottom of the 10th is on the Tigers. It wasn’t the schedule makers or the payrolls. You have a two run lead and give up five runs while recording one out, it’s on you. Had Brieske closed that inning clean the trip into LA would be considered a success. 2 1 Quote
gehringer_2 Posted Sunday at 04:33 PM Posted Sunday at 04:33 PM Regression in the BP performance may turn out to be the soft underbelly of this team. A lot of guys probably were pitching better than their expected values last season. Also doesn't hope that we are getting zero from Lange and Foley, who as recently as a year ago were our expected 1 and 2 BP arms. Quote

I trust that Hinch and Fetter will the most out of their bullpen, but I doubt that last year's perfect storm happens again. Bullpens are fickle. Quote

Why aren't the Dodgers playing a rival or divisional foe to start the real season. Then we have to go to Seattle where we always struggle. Might be starting out 0-6 while playing halfway decent baseball. It doesn't help that our pitchers have to throw it right down the middle to get a strike and theirs don't. I know the pitch-framing catchers (and Rogers is one of the best) would lose a lot of value, but they can't implement the ABS. Tigers were getting squeezed the whole series and then that play at the plate. I thought you needed CLEAR evidence to overturn a call? This league wants the Dodgers to set a record. They want that 117 for their big star (who illegally gambled). Actually what had happened was the Tigers won 2 of the 3 game, but the gestapos in MLB used AI to broadcast a Dodgers sweep. We are now in an alternate universe, but we’ll be linked back up to reality in a few weeks. Look, if you’re going to go half baked drama queen conspiracy theory, don’t half ass it. Step into it full throttle. 1 Quote

Tenacious D Posted Sunday at 06:01 PM Posted Sunday at 06:01 PM Tigers were a playoff team last season, so not sure why they couldn’t play the Dodgers. And as a local, I appreciate the Tigers starting on the road in a good weather area. Probably two rainouts this weekend if they opened at home. A lot of teams are going to lose to the Dodgers—it was just our turn. Now just go 159-3 Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted Sunday at 11:55 PM Posted Sunday at 11:55 PM Well, if Keith continues looking so lost and Malloy continues what he's doing..........maybe a swap would be in order. Quote

I had thought Malloy's return became more likely once they got past the Dodger lefty loaded bullpen regardless. Quote
