That is as good of a defensive play as you will ever see Tork make. A little wild on the throw, probably too much adrenaline at that moment.

I’ll excuse the occasional defensive lapse from Tork if he’s gonna OPS 1.500….

My coach wanted me to use the crouched stance because I was already on the small/skinny side.  He wanted me to just draw walks and then steal second base every time.  Which is a great strategy but not much fun when you’re a little kid watching Rob Deer and Cecil Fielder on TV all the time.

You and I grew up at a time when little league coaches didn’t care about your development or your feelings or any of that airy fairy crap. They were in it to win it, and if you sucked as a player, then all you got was garbage time.

Are the Mariners the team that has the little cup of roasted crickets you can get from the concession stand?

Fried grasshoppers.

Mariners broadcast thinks Jobe might be tipping his pitches.

If the broadcasters see that, there’s no way the bench is missing it. They might be working on that right now.

Yep.  In retrospect, if I had just listened and played to my strengths, I could’ve been a useful player.  I cared less about winning the game as I did getting the post game snack from the team mom though….

They were speculating—didn’t see anything specific, but felt that Jobe’s stuff was good but the Mariners are all over it.

would have been tragic if Keith had been out there.

It was a 100% decision on Colt’s part, and the M’s had to execute the absolute perfect play to get him and they almost did.

Colt Keith was almost out on that. It was a fantastic throw and tag by the Ms, except for the ball drop at the end.

He beat the tag even if he held on.
