I can never watch these games the Tigers play against the Mariners because they are blacked out for me because I’m in their viewing area and I don’t have cable and I’m not willing to give Root sports $19.99 a month without Cable to watch the Tigers play the Mariners six times a year.

The Mariners viewing era area is very huge and includes Washington, Oregon, Montana, Alaska and much of of Idaho except the eastern part of the state that falls within the Rockies viewing area.

That’s dumb.  I get Washington, but anything out of state is too much for that.

An important part of Idaho the panhandle the slender area that extends up to the Canadian border and has some significant population is economically tied in to the state of Washington and is even on Pacific time because of that instead of mountain time so it makes sense but Alaska? I guess if Canada becomes “the 51st state” the entirety of western Canada up to and including Alaska will be in the Mariners viewing area.

I ended up subscribing to the Root Sports app. I like to watch the Mariners live sometimes after the Tigers finish and this is the only way (unless you go the cable route, which I dumped years ago). Really hate that the Tigers only trip to Seattle this year was in March. But went last night and glad I did.

Our much maligned McKinstry just singled and stole the base. This is Tiger baseball.

People can say what they want about “McStinky”, but he is an elite baserunner, and that matters.

Tork is hitting .438.

Did you know if he keeps at this pace, he's going to finish the season hitting .438?

He’s Ty Cobb minus the unfriendly attitude.
