Although, I do wonder if he played very conservatively given his foibles earlier in the game. Plus, weren’t there 0 outs? Struggling pitcher, they probably didn’t have anyone warming up. Yes, the next 3 hitters aren’t exactly awe inspiring, but bases full with none out? I like the odds of getting a point there. 1 out I think. Sweeney had struck out. Then Harvey bounced out to third and they got the force at home, then McKinstry Kd. The Dingler single really wasn’t hit deep enough to send Keith home—he’d have gotten thrown out if the throw was remotely decent. He had said Colt was so far off second he would have been doubled off anyway, so why not keep going? But I have heard from others Colt’d’ve been nailed at the plate, so I don’t know what Dan was seeing. Edited 4 hours ago by chasfh Quote

Even a great jump at 2nd by Colt may not have mattered. Javy was more to blame, bases loaded and 1 out and he doesn't drive in the tying run. Quote
