Tiger337 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 That was beautiful! Last year, Tork would have struck out or hit into a DP. 1 Quote
Jim Cowan Posted April 6 Posted April 6 That's how you do it! That's satisfying. That's like a vintage JD Martinez moment Quote

Sports_Freak Posted April 6 Posted April 6 It's kinda weird, I see Tork come up and feel total confidence. I figured he would at least tie the game. But he won it! 1 Quote

lordstanley Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Torkelson was the Tigers’ big offseason acquisition. 3 Quote

Yeah - quite the change from last season to be able to say we had the guy we wanted at the plate to win the game and it be Torkelson. But Sweeney playing really well also. Sitting at 800 OPS. Quote

Chopper Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I'm so happy for Tork. He was getting written off by a lot of us but man he has definitely been a different player this year. Great comeback boys! 1 Quote

chasfh Posted April 6 Posted April 6 This is Tork’s first real signature moment, and based on what he’s shown us this season, it won’t be his last. I’m really starting to believe his improvement is sticky. Quote

Great comeback boys! The people who said he was still young may have been right. Jason said it earlier in the season, Tork has thousands of fans really rooting him on, we're all behind him and we're desperate for him to produce. Today, he finally did. His 0 for 4 is meaningless, his one hit was the game winning hit. Quote
IdahoBert Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Greene didn’t hit a three-run homer to end the game, but this was just as dramatic and perhaps even more encouraging. Quote
papalawrence Posted April 6 Posted April 6 This is what many fans envisioned with Tork. If he remains an .850+ ops guy, along with Greene and Carp, that's formidable Awesome win! Quote

If it weren’t for Sweeney hustling to beat that double play throw, it’s two outs and the game is tied on Tork’s hit … maybe. Sweeney created the conditions that led to the specific outcome we saw today. 1 1 Quote
