• Golden Earring: "Twilight Zone" 
• The Clash:  "Train in Vain" or "London Calling" (would require a player with a name with some element of "London" or some neighborhood of London like John Rotherhithe or Bill Westminster.)
• Elvis Costello:  "Everyday I write the Book"

We had this same conversation on opening day.  Wife said "That's his parents music" and I corrected her and said "That's his grandparent's music... remember, these players could now be our kid".

Which prompted a discussion on whether Dave Mathews Band is GenX's version of Jimmy Buffet?

Last year I was selected to be the fan of the game where they put me in good seats, introduced me on the board, and I had to pick a walk up song.  I went with Sabatoge.

I saw Elvis in a one-time church turned into a music venue and a bar in Tucson, Arizona in 1977 and he was pretty fantastic.

Solid choice.  Brass Monkey might have been too much.  You did mean the Beastie Boys and not the band Savatage which would also be awesome not for the same reason.

I think that is a solid comp.   There were a lot of manufactured emotions sent in our general direction by way of Grunge and its lesser acts.   You could really be avant garde-ish and do Nirvanna's version of the Bowie "Man who Sold the World" but I doubt fans would understand that.  

Or just screw it...do the Bowie version.

Listening to the Yankees radio announcers this game and yesterday's and they talked up the Tigers a lot.  Really enjoyable listening to them.
