In the Yankees post game Chisholm bemoaned that Skubal pitched completely against their scouting report. :classic_biggrin:

(you see guys, if I know what you know I know, then what you know about what I know may not tell you what you think you know......)

On the radio pregame show I was in the car and I started 2/3 of the way into an interview with AJ and the audio was really bad and he was talking about someone taking swings and I think throwing and getting better a lot quicker than they expected and I’m presuming it was Torres and not Meadows. Can anyone confirm who he was talking about?

Yes, that’s the problem when facing Skubal.  Not his elite velocity, pitch mix and location.

This is great to know. It means the Tigers and Skubal are doing things right. I’m also glad that a change in catchers wasn’t a problem.

I’d assume Vierling

Ah, that makes the most sense, thank you for answering.

Hinch could have been talking about both. Torres is also hitting against the machines at velocity and they are debating whether to send him to a rehab or just bring him back.

Second baseman Gleyber Torres, who is on the 10-day injured list with an oblique injury, has begun a hitting progression, moving from work on a tee to facing high-speed pitches from a machine.

"We haven't determined exactly if he is going to need a rehab stint," Hinch said. "He's been doing some sort of high-velocity work off a machine."

On Saturday, Torres said he felt "really happy" with how his body responded to the swings -- jared ramsey, freep

Wow, thank you.
