Did we out think the room starting Monteto today?

It wasn’t a bad idea. It was as Deadpool says “a calculated wish.” It was based on a need of having to give the rest of the staff an extra day off and he had performed well in AAA, but the gap between major league and AAA got the better of him today.

Keeping him around for a while might also help keep them from wearing out Jobe.

Nah, I don’t think so.  It seems more likely to win a game giving up 5 than it is scoring only 1.  I understand the intent of bringing someone up to start today’s game given the current climate of pitching.  I don’t like the current climate of pitching, but it is what it is.

yup - 5 starters under the Mendoza today - you're not going to score a lot of runs like that. Riley needs to get his head straight, Sweeney should be able to do better. Nido, Kreidler can't hit, Ibanez seems to have lost his beat up lefties magic, Malloy's walk rate has fallen so his OBP is plummeting. Don't know how much longer you can bat him 1.

1st inning was a killer. The door was open and the Tigers tried to walk through without running through....

You know, if it weren't for Tyler Alexander's handful of innings, the Tiger offense was basically a no show this series.
