I believe Pope Frank would approve. I think I mentioned this before, but when I was a kid, I had a button with a picture of Pope John Paul Jr in a Tigers hat and the inscription of “Bless You Boys”. Motor City Sonics Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I think Dan Dickerson first said since 2011, didn't he. Wow, it's the year 2125 Quote
holygoat Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I'd prefer Johnny Kane to Daniella Bruce on post game. Hell, I'd prefer Craig Monroe to her. 1 Quote
Tiger337 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago The Tigers now have a better record than the Dodgers. It's so unfair! 1 1 Quote
Tigermojo Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Sky's the limit for these guys. I expected a good season but I never imagined a .630 win percentage. Quote

I jogged “with” Pope John Paul II for around 7km down University Ave on his visit to Toronto in 1984. As in, I followed alongside his Popemobile on foot. Then attended a big Polish Mass at Exhibition Stadium that evening. Rumor had it he was going to make an impromptu visit by helicopter to my dad’s hometown of Wilno in the Ottawa Valley, Canada’s first Polish settlement, but the locals were left hanging like with the Great Pumpkin so made their way to the Wilno Tavern instead for bigos and Zywiec. It’s the second time since 1911: the funeral of Pope Pius X was on August 24, 1914, on which day the Tigers took two from the Senators, 3-1 and 11-0. 2 2 Quote
Tenacious D Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago As the season progresses and if we can continue to be a playoff contender, I’d like to see us eventually trade for a high leverage reliever. I really think Vest is the only that we have—would like to see us add. We’ll have the prospect capital to convert some into players who can help us if we make the postseason. Quote

IdahoBert Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago On the Tigers MLB page reporting on the doubleheader Jason Beck said the 12–3 start was the best home record in the 26 year history of Comerica Park and he said nothing about 1911. Quote

Obviously too distraught on the day of Pope Francis’s funeral to gather his thoughts properly. Quote
