Best start since 1911 at home. Better than 1984? Impressive.

Thanks. That was the first thought that popped into my head as well.

Either the Tigers or Skubal himself are weirdly snakebit when he starts. We are 2-3 on those occasions so far.

Remember that game last week had high hopes. He’s due for a gem.

the tendency Skubal has to fight is getting too predictable. The FB and Change are so good he tends to lock in,  but you want guys who think about sitting on a change-up to know the next off-speed they get might still be something else.

They had every opportunity to acquire pitching last deadline and were too snooty about their prospects to upgrade.  (Orioles)

My guess is most of this board will feel the same way about the idea of trading Max Clark 3 months from now.

I’m not sure Skubal isn’t one of those Koufax-types who is so dominant that you can know exactly what’s coming and you can’t hit it anyway.

Anyhow, I do think of him as snakebit because even though the Tigers are 2-3 in his starts, he and his 2.83 ERA aren’t the main reason.

What’s different, though, is that we are not in need of starting pitching.  A SS upgrade might be nice, but I suspect we’d be in the hunt for someone who could be a shutdown, high leverage reliever.  Someone like Josue Briceno is more likely to get dealt to address that, if required.

This will be the sixth time already this year where we are playing for a sweep.

I'm trying to find the negative in that and I can't.   I may have been away from Michigan too long.

It looks like in '84, they were 11-4 in their first 15 home games? This years 12-3 is better than 1984....yeah, impressive.
