Liranzo, Clark and McGonigal at WM should be fun.

Speaking of which:

Max Clark: 2-5, single-double

Max Anderson:  2-4, 2 singles-BB

McGonigle:  1-3, double-BB

Campos:  2-4, single-double

Gold:  2-4, double-triple

Now add Liranzo and Briceno (when he's ready).

Yeah... could be some fun there the rest of the season...

Clark must be PO'd that they moved McGonigle past him in the rankings. He's been pedal to the metal since he got to WM.

Toledo entered the top of the 9th down 7 tonight and made a game of it by scoring 5. Torkelson came to the plate as the tying run with one out and the bases loaded but they pitched around him, giving him an RBI and his 3rd walk to go with an 0/2.

Jobe two earned runs but the defense has been awful. Shortstop lost a pop-up in the sun and the ball fell right in front of him. Catcher dropped a ball that hit his glove, runner advanced and he can't throw anybody out stealing second.

has he made substantive changes?

or is he just a talented guy feasting on AAA pitching who still would have same ML issues?

if they limit him to 34 days more service time (So ~Sept 1 call up), they control him for 5 more seasons, not 4

that always helps, but not sure Tork is really a guy they need to worry about service time with

Only thing that stands out is that he’s drawing a lot of walks.  Apparently he’s hitting the fastball at a good clip now, so that’s promising.  Still too many Ks.

IDK - for a while I was watching his AB's to see if he was being more aggressive on strikes early in the count and it was maybe some days yes, maybe some days not so much. The increase in his walk rate this month is striking though - could be he's done something to get quicker to the ball to give him more time on his pitch recognition but that's purely speculative. He had high walk rates in college and the minors but was never consistently above 10% in the majors. If he sustained a higher walk rate on his return that would be worth something.
