RandyMarsh Posted April 11 Posted April 11 I gave up on Manning a couple seasons ago atleast as a starter, best case scenario for him is he carves out a career as a multi inning reliever but I'm skeptical of even that from him. Just way too inconsistent for me to want to trust him in any type of high leverage role. Quote
Edman85 Posted April 11 Posted April 11 I suspect Manning was just piggybacking because he was rained out Wednesday and they wanted to keep him and Montero on schedule. 1 Quote
RatkoVarda Posted April 11 Posted April 11 News ($) has article with Max Clark gushing about talent around him. He and McGonigle knew each other from all-star circuit before they were drafted. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2025/04/10/max-clark-on-detroit-tigers-minor-league-talent-its-insane/82986276007/ and https://www.mlb.com/news/early-season-developments-to-believe-in-for-each-mlb-team-2025 Tigers: Dillon Dingler breaks out at catcher Even before Jake Rogers went to the injured list Tuesday with left oblique tightness, Dingler’s strong play – both at the plate and behind it – was making a push for more than backup playing time, leading manager A.J. Hinch to say the Tigers had two viable starting catchers. With Rogers sidelined, Dingler now figures to get the bulk of playing time, giving him regular at-bats to build on an encouraging start at the plate. His track record as a prospect showed him picking it up at each level after an adjustment period of initial struggles, and he’s showing signs of making the turn in the Majors. -- Jason Beck Quote
gehringer_2 Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 key with Manning is always a >95 fastball. When he throws hard all his other stuff works better. They want him to throw that hard as a starter but they've been dinking around for 3 yrs and it's not happening, If he'll throw hard as reliever just move him there. 1 Quote
Tenacious D Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Rainer was pulled for an apparent injury in the 9th. On a more positive note, Max Clark has 11 RBI on the season in only 24 AB’s Quote

I usually do updates at the beginning of my workday, but overseas calls are getting in the way. I should be back with your tiger cub updates here shortly. 3 1 Quote

papalawrence Posted April 16 Posted April 16 The older pitcher turned knuckleballer that the Tigers signed over the winter, Kenny Serwa is off to a nice start. Long odds, but who knows. He is 27 and with the Whitecaps. 2 games - 1 start, 6 inn, 1 hit, 1bb, 9k 0 runs https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=serwa-000ken Quote
