In 2019, restrictions on AFL rosters were lifted. It used to be MLB players weren't allowed, but now it's allowed, particularly pitchers you may want to get some innings to help build up.

BR has Wentz at 66 IP for the season. I had thought it was significantly more

That neck stinger issue took him out for a while..... he could use a little more work.

I think it’s to get him more innings.  Kind of a lost season for him.

From the box score looks like Serretti stole home tonight.  Hello Erie.

Since the big club has no chance of making it to the playoffs it is fun to watch Erie go for it. They won last night 5-3 in 11 innings. Meadows went 3/4 with a 2B, 2 RBI, BB and K while it looks like they used Alvarado as an opener with Hurter following with 4.2 IP and 6K. Serretti went 1/3 with a BB and K and Workman with a 1/5 4K night. The night though belonged to Josh Crouch who hit his first AA homerun in the top of the 11th with one on to put the Wolves up 5-2. 

In the 48 AB this September Meadows is hitting an unsustainable .396/.453/.563 good for a 1.016 OPS. Good to see him show up during this playoff run and to build on his August performance.

I might have been nice to see if Parker could have sustained his success at AAA at the end of this season - but OTOH maybe it's also good for him to experience some sustained success with the bat after what has to have been a frustrating MiLB career prior to this year.

agree with your 2nd point.  He was still young for Erie--let him go into the offseason feeling good about his season.  And we should, too.  Greatly reduced his K's--if his K rate can hover around 25%, he might be a good major leaguer as his combination of speed and power is certainly appealing.  Toledo will be a good test--looking forward to following his progress there, along with Wenceel Perez.

Reading through that it certainly seems he has embraced the data and honestly seems like he knows what he is talking about. Obviously that doesn't mean he will for sure be successful but it certainly doesn't hurt.

Cool article, its definitely easy to fall in love with the stuff. Fastball sitting mid 90s and touched 100 with 19 inches of vertical movement to go along with that 3300 rpm slider. 

Its just going to come down to command and of course health, with that type of stuff you don't need to be Greg Maddux but can't be Gregory Soto either, if he can atleast control the stuff he could be a real ace.

Curious he didn't seem as clear on the value of spin on his FB but worked on it anyway. If he can hit 19" vertical he'll do fine with it.

I can't lose any sleep over this.  Happy for the guy, but doesn't seem like his success will be sustainable long term.  At the time, we probably thought we would get Meadows back, and Baddoo had been hitting well in Toledo.  Sure it's hindsight now, but at the time, I wanted Baddoo to get the AB's.  If there is a silver lining, Thompson might have been able to help us win a couple of more games that would only hurt our draft lottery odds for next year.

Madden had a so so outing tonight, the bad news is he gave up 4 runs in 4 2/3 innings including 3 bombs and a walk, the good news is though that he K'd 9 out of the 18 batters he faced.

One of you wet blankets gonna tell me that Danny Serretti ain’t all that?  Kind of impressive what he’s done in his debut, albeit in fewer than 100 AB’s.
