gehringer_2 Posted yesterday at 05:25 AM Author Posted yesterday at 05:25 AM Well, we don't need to worry about the opportunity cost of keeping Maeda on the roster when Foley is pitching well - Foley to the IL. https://www.freep.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2025/04/17/jake-rogers-injury-update-detroit-tigers-catcher-rehab/83146279007/ Quote

So far he looks good at WM. I love stories like this. Guys like Neikro, Wakefield, RA Dickey, etc didn't have the right stuff without the knuckler, then bloomed late when they learned the knuckleball. Maybe Kenny will have a similar path. Doesn't hurt to try Quote

A-ball hitters -- even Double-A -- aren't capable of making heads or tails of a knuckleball. They are overmatched by it. Until such time as a knuckleball pitcher not only has success in Triple-A but then in the big leagues, they are always a non-prospect. Quote

I guess my question was more geared around his stuff being good enough for us to look at him at higher levels or not. I initially viewed his signing with us as being like Havard Rugland when the Lions brought him in as a preseason kicker. Quote
