Carpenter's BABIP is .408; and his K rate, which was previously solid, is over 30%

looks like he is the 2022 version of Eric De La Cruz, who has turned back into a pumpkin

Assuming you are referring to Eric De La Rosa?

Carpenter's numbers are better and he's doing it all at AA, but there's a lot of "pumpkin" risk with him.... just surprising to see Alvarez out raising expectations like that, can't tell if he's just doing the usual hype job or if there's something there that people are missing.

Brant Hurter:  6 IP 3H 1ER 0BB 11K for Lakeland. FTs win 8-4

Erie goes nuts tonight - scores 17 runs on 22 hits:

Olson 5 IP 2H 1R 0 ER 2 BB 8 K; Dingler 1/2 2BB

What if Olson really has tamed the walk monster? Does he have top of rotation stuff?

Sort of nice to see... the team, which has guys like Meadows and Workman who are considered prospects, has been pretty sluggish with the bats up to this point.

that league had a rep for being a hard league to hit in, but I don't know why or if it is still true. Some one here probably does.

Really tough day for Lakeland though: One-hit and no-hit in the two ends of a 7 inning double header

They are creating an environment which is as similar to the big club as possible.  That is smart.

it seems like he's never shown much ability to hit a baseball.  how much time does he have?

Probably a better question for Microline or Edman, but the reason that you don't give up on him yet is his age - still only 22. He did move up a level early on this year, so that probably buys him another year or two.

Daniel Cabrera is the one who feels more like he's living on borrowed time... he's a college guy who is older and just hasn't shown it.

there's no point in not hanging on to him.  he's not blocking anybody.  might as well ride it out and see if he ever figures it out.

Kriedler currently a double for 4 in Toledo and Greene is 0-2 in Lakeland. Interesting that he is playing RF while Campos is playing CF.

Dylan Smith with another strong outing, 6 IP 1H 1BB 7K

Greene out the game after 3 AB. LO SS, GO 1B, GO 2B.(No K's)
