RandyMarsh Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Bondo's 70 years old throwing pitches to his Grandson when suddenly his Grandson is out infront of a pitch and Bondo realizes he developed a change up and makes his mlb comeback. 1 1 Quote
Dan Gilmore Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 My assumption is that everything Bonderman throws right now would be a changeup. Quote
Tigeraholic1 Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Didn’t Bondo have some weird blood vessel issue? Think had a surgery and he never was the same. Quote

Yep thoracic outlet syndrome. Usually not a death knell for pitchers, but he was a shell of himself after that. Quote

Maybe I'm thinking of someone else. In any case, the other thing that seems true is that Bonderman didn't want it bad enough. Which is fine, he doesn't owe going through the rigors of rehabbing to be an MLB pitcher to anyone, but if you don't want it bad enough you won't go through it and if you don't it's pointless to hang around. That sounds familiar. Didn’t seem like a smooth surgery. Quote

How many pitchers have had it and returned to form? I was under the impression it's pretty commonly a death knell for pitchers. Quote

Worth noting Pacheco has a .793 OPS in Lakeland, which is good for a 130 wRC+. Edited June 11, 2022 by TigerNation 1 Quote

Pacheco has been their Steady Eddie. Looks like he's had only one dry spell of about 0/15 but conversely he has only one game >2 hits. Quote

I guess maybe just where the roster spot is right now....Or maybe he is too old to be assigned there? Edited June 11, 2022 by gehringer_2 Quote
