He's probably rates as the longest of long shots in their system now, but in a season like this that's the kind of stuff I find it entertaining to check in on..... Shinzaki Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Given his earlier pitching lines...that's a HUGE step forward for Perez Quote

RandyMarsh Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Kinda hard to believe that Perez is still only 24. Considering he is essentially starting his whole minor league career over it still makes him a long shot but he is still young enough that it isn't completely out of the question that he can make it back and have some MLB career. Quote
Stanley70 Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 He was 19 when we acquired him. That was one of the criticisms of that deal, that the centerpiece was a 19 year old pitcher that had never thrown more that 86 innings in a season. Lots of risk there. Similar risk they took on drafting Jobe. Quote

Certainly not his very first game after all his recoveries. Like Edman said... he could be toast (he was more unequivocal about that...). But if he ever does recover and turn into something instead of nothing... that 3 2/3 innings means: absolutely nothing. Quote

Shinzaki Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 With Perez...the goal has to be to get him through the season healthy while showing some improvement as the season progresses. So far...so good Quote
Edman85 Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Adinso Reyes promoted to Lakeland. I have a feeling this is one of many promotions today. 1 Quote

Sounds like the draftees (position players) will get assignments this weekend. Will be interesting with all of the middle infielders—wonder if they’ll challenge Pacheco at WM? I don’t think Santana or Sequera look ready yet. Quote
