Motor City Sonics Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 And 6 years from now........the 31st pick in this year's draft will be a star and the 32nd pick will blow out both Achilles tendon's and lose their hand in a bizarre drone accident. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Lions fans can quote Arthur Fleck. "I used to think my life was a tragedy, now I see it's a comedy". Quote

Motown Bombers Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 It's been 12 years and Stafford hasn't won a single playoff game. How many more chances do we give him? Other QBs drafted #1 overall have won multiple playoff games like Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, and Jared Goff. Quote
Jason_R Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 I would have given Donald the MVP but Kupp was a worthy choice. If only Martin Mathew had picked Aaron Donald, maybe that would have been Stafford winning the Super Bowl with the Lions, which I would have watched in a hot tub with my soul mate. Quote

Motown Bombers Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Matthew Stafford is basically Jay Cutler. Quote

Hongbit Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Happy for Stafford. He had to leave the Lions in order to win the game that ensures he will some day be enshrined in the hall to fame as a Lion. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Yeah Stafford threw for 5,000 yards and 41 TDs but he lost to the Saints in the playoffs. He's basically Scott Mitchell. Mitchell had a good season but flopped in the playoffs. Quote

People in Motown are in tears -- tears of joy, that is -- that the Lions finally dumped him. In fact, if COVID-19 wasn’t still gripping folks, there probably would have been a parade down Woodward on Sunday," Parker wrote in his latest column for Deadspin. Just as well the Rams won as a Cincy win would have been tainted by the missed offensive pass interference/face mask on the TD. And probably would have been an easier win if McVay had just stopped trying to run the ball and given Stafford more useful downs to move the chains. Also the PI 1st down saved Stafford's bacon at the end because if they had failed to get the TD after those two terrible throws after 1st and goal the story would have been the overthrow and the dead duck into the dirt and that Stafford choked. I like when the the line between success and failure ends up standing out so clearly. Edited February 14, 2022 by gehringer_2 Quote

Motown Bombers Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 I've been saying this for a while now but Matthew Stafford is the Carmelo Anthony of the NFL. Lots of stats but zero playoff wins in 12 years. Quote

Watching those play calls last nite, knowing their OC is going to the Vikings, made me glad the Lions are in the NFC North. Not sold on the Bears choice either, & Aaron Rodgers won't be around much longer. The Lions are trending up - Now if we could just get a QB like Matthew Stafford. Quote

Stafford only has one more year on his contract and will be a free agent. In 12 years with Stafford it didn't work out. The Lions need to do what other teams are doing and go with a young QB who can win when it counts like Jared Goff. Quote
