Motown Bombers Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 Packers got a good deal. I like that his last pass as a Packer was a Kerby Joseph interception that eliminated him from the playoffs. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 A 2nd, a swap of 1sts, and a conditional 1st is too much for an old, annoying, and no-longer-great Rodgers. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 Especially when there is no guarantee he will play after this season. Hell, he may not even play this year knowing him. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 Can’t wait until the Jets start 2-7 and all of a sudden Rodgers is “hurt” and out for the rest of the season. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 His last pass as a Green Bay Packer. Quote
buddha Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 that's a helluva lot for a 39 year old declining qb. 1 Quote
CMRivdogs Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 Well he's a Jet, and they'll always regret, giving up the store When the **** hits the fan, they'll know he's the man, who didn't give a damn (except for the headlines) Each incomplete pass, or when he ends up on his ass, the fans say they expected, because they gave away the store and he wasn't protected With apologies to Stephen Sondheim Quote

Is there anything sweeter than this? 1000 beautiful angels could carry me to heaven singing the sweetest and most soulful music that ever entered my ears and it wouldn't be as sweet as this. I love you, Kirby. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 I think it was a good deal for both teams considering where the Jets are currently at. I think they have a really good squad now and are a QB away from being legit SB contenders so this type of move makes sense for them. Yeah at Rodgers age you never know when you are going to fall of a cliff but lets not forget a year ago at this time he was the reigning 2 time MVP winner so its not like it's been that long since he has been elite. The worst you're looking at for the Jets is a 2nd and likely a 1st in the late teens or 20s. The upside is he has a few elite years left in him and he leads you to multiple deep playoff runs. Quote

You know what's going to happen right? The Lions are finally gonna have their greatest season in the SB era... make it all the way to the SB and face Aaron Rodgers and the Jets, who will knock them off with a Hail Mary because of a bad penalty call. 1 Quote

They would have been better going after Derek Carr honestly and I am surprised they didn't. Carr has more to offer than Rodgers and wouldn't have cost that large amount of draft capital. Quote
CMRivdogs Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Rodgers going to the Jets is a bit reminiscent of Namath going to the Rams. That didn't work out so well. At Rodgers has better knees... Quote

Correct me if I am wrong, Farve's previous year he was in consideration for MVP as well. I don't think the Jets had that much talent though when Farve came over. Quote
TP_Fan Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Deal made sense for both teams. Jets had no other option. They are all in, if they get a SB out of it then it’s for sure worth it. I don’t think they will even make the playoffs, so it will end up better for the Packers. Jets will sell tickets, merchandise and get more prime time games (no SNF in like a decade), and maybe win some games. So all good for them too. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 The Jets have a brutal schedule and play in a tough division. It can get ugly but I wouldn't be surprised if they just do something like 8-9 like the Packers. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers are both ****ty people too. I wonder if Rodgers will sexually harass the Jets cheerleaders? Quote
Motown Bombers Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Never would have thought this when they drafted him. 1 Quote
RandyMarsh Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Wow that is a surprise. Given his hype I think it's fair to say at this point he has been a disappointment. Quote
buddha Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 that injury must be very serious. he has barely played for two years. he was defensive rookie of the year and a pro bowler in year one. Quote
buddha Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 i'd give them the 5th we got for okudah for him! Quote

Motown Bombers Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Rodgers contempt for the media is fascinating. I'm sure it will be better in New York than Green Bay Wisconsin. Quote
