Puka and AJ Brown also had Pro Bowl worthy years so somebody was gonna get left out.

Sucks for St. Brown but let's face it who really cares about the Pro Bowl anyway unless you have a contract incentive tied to it?

I don’t have a problem if they wanted to get Jamaal a TD just like I didn’t have a problem with the Lions getting Reynolds his bonus. Jamaal has had a really tough season. But there’s a way to do it, and it’s by earning a TD. Your team against their team. It’s not by saying you’re taking a knee and then twisting the knife.

Tell the Falcons that's what you're doing and why you aren't taking a knee.    They'll line up to try to stop him, but I think they'd understand the reason.   But doing it like this?   Disgusting.     It would be like a hockey player bragging on the number of empty net goals they have.

I did notice that on the postgame handshake yesterday that it appeared that Campbell let O Connell know why they were feeding Reynolds at the end cause it appeared to me like OConnell said something like "Dont worry about it not a big deal" which made me think Dan was apologizing about something and that's the only thing I could think of.

The Vikings players knew what the Lions were doing.

No, this is GREAT for the Lions.    Not that ASB ever needs motivation...........but even more now.

Not to kick a  dead horse but to me ASB was more deserving this year than he was last year to make the Pro Bowl. But yeah he loves to have a chip it seems so all this does is get him centered for the playoffs.

Someone has to answer for this. I’d be surprised if Jameis is back for the Saints next season, and it wouldn’t shock me if Dennis Allen gets fired too.

If you’re Jameis, you’re a backup QB. Do what you’re told. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s out of a job come week one next season. He falls in the line of “guys who aren’t worth bringing in unless they’re going to be your starter, who aren’t good enough to be your starter”. See Cam Newton.

If you’re Dennis Allen, it doesn’t speak highly of your leadership if your team is going behind your back to run fake kneels. It’s terrible for something like this to happen, especially when it plays out publicly. Who will want to go play for that guy this offseason?

Did Williams get a bonus for a TD? It seems lame to get him a cheap TD just so he wouldn't have 0 TDs for the season.

Carolina fired their GM. You would think they would have done that when they fired Reich. Now they have to start a GM search late. I also don't even believe it was the GM who wanted Bryce Young. Now you need to bring in a GM and coach who will want to work with Young because the Panthers don't have a lot of options. What a dumpster fire that organization has become.

Ray Agnew and Ben Johnson as a package would be intriguing. I would demand 6 year contracts like Holmes and Campbell got. Problem is I don't think Tepper will be as patient as Sheila.

I've been pushing them for Washington.

I see today where Josh Harris has hired Rick Spielman (former Vikings GM) and Bob Myers,(former Golden State, now ESPN) to advise in the front office search. It's an interesting mix.

Not only do the Commodes need a new front office and coach, there is also the issue of a new stadium and who they can fleece to help pay for it.

I know we waited till after their playoff run was done to hire Patricia but not sure if that was done out of courtesy since Quinn loved the Pats or if that is the standard thing in th NFL?

I would just hate to lose one or both our coordinators before our season is done.

You can't officially hire a coach until that team's season is over. We also had to wait for the Saints to be eliminated before Campbell was announced as coach.

It doesn't seem to apply to GM's. Holmes was named GM two days before the Rams were eliminated in the playoffs.

They can't leave until the season is over. Think back to when Weiss, Crennell and Belicheck hugged after the superbowl win because they all knew they were moving on.

Was confused when I turned on YoutubeTV and had like 6 games to choose from.  I guess today is a free preview of Sunday Ticket.

Tell ya what, this was as classless as it comes.   If Jameis Winston ever gets in that situation again, with a kneel down (if I was Dennis Allen I'd demand his release for ignoring the order), Someone is going to launch into him and he deserves it.   Don't want to hear the crying about how it was a victory formation.    Might be "eating a W", but he'll also be "eating a helmet".      Disappointed in Jamaal.  Thought he was a better man than this.

I totally agree. I have no problem with the Saints wanting to score, even a head of the game with virtually no time left. No issue with that whatsoever. But victory formation has a special meaning to it. Everyone knows what it means. The offense is saying: "I'm not going to try anything here... just kneeling down." The defense sees this and agrees not to slam into the offense and try to cause injuries when the offense is not trying to advance the ball.

This isn't a trick play... this isn't being sneaky... it's slap in the face to the defense and it erodes the sportsmanship and the understand and if it happens more it WILL lead to injuries.

Then next year, if someone were to pop Jameis on a concession play are people going to talk about how dirty it was.  He just opened the door for this to happen.    If you wanted to run a play, don't line up in Victory formation.   He's an idiot anyway.   This doesn't change that narrative.

I really doubt he is in the league next year. He's not good enough to start, and if he can't follow simple directions, he's not worth the baggage as a backup.

I was thinking the same thing.  He's a headache.

This reminded me of when Titus Young decided to just lineup wherever he wanted and run whatever routes he wanted - on multiple plays.   Hasn't played in the league since.   **** Vermeil tried to give him a second shot and realized quickly it was pointless.

i guarantee he is in the league next year.  there are a dearth of nfl quality qbs and he is still one of them.

Maybe it is just me, but if I were Williams I would have refused and I would be embarrassed if my only rushing touchdown on the season came from when my team faked a victory formation.  Like....how do you feel good about that?
