Former player, perfect culture fit, and a fantastic coach. Look at those recent Tennessee rosters, what did they expect him to do? He’s a football coach not a magician. 1 Quote
Motown Bombers Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 I'd look for New England to hire Vrabel. Quote

Motown Bombers Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 Ironically I see Glenn as a Vrabel type. Would be wild if the Titans hired him. I'm not sure I would want Vrabel as coordinator. He would likely be one and done and only there to become head coach. I like the idea of the Lions developing coaches. Let Kelvin Shephard take over as defensive coordinator. 1 Quote

RandyMarsh Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 It always amazes me how quickly things can change in the NFL for coaches. Its such a "what have you done for me lately" league. A few years ago Vrabel was basically viewed like Campbell is now, he was the guy that teams were looking or hoping they could find in their next head coach. Then he has a couple down years with subpar talent and suddenly he gets fired. It's like the guy didn't just forget how to coach or lead a team in 2 to 3 years. I just hope if the Lions ever get in a similar situation they don't do the same to Campbell. Quote

I’m not sure whether I read it here or somewhere else, but someone said “if you fire your coach and everyone immediately wants them to become their coach, you probably shouldn’t have fired your coach.” I have a hard time seeing whoever the Titans hire accomplishing more than Vrabel did. They’re incredibly devoid of talent. Quote

Motown Bombers Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 It was like a year ago where the Texans looked like they were Carolina level bad and incompetent. Maybe they knew what they were doing all along. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 You can definitely turn things around fast if you land the right coach and nail a draft or 2. Particularly if one of the players you nail in the draft is a qb like Houston did. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 According to Shefter the Bears are not making a HC change and are sticking with Eberflus. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 I don't know if this means they are keeping Fields or not. They may want a different coordinator for Williams or they may think they saw enough from Fields that they want a better OC. Quote
buddha Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 every now and then i think the bears will do something smart and then they continue to remind me that they are still owned by the mccaskeys. the bears not getting harbaugh is a wonderful thing. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 The Bears seem like the perfect fit for Harbaugh, even more so than the Chargers. Harbaugh would have his choice of building around Fields with a lot of great assets, or getting the top QB in the draft without having to give up assets. This seems like a situation with the Chargers where they held on to Staley a year too long. Quote

Motown Bombers Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 I know you will hear the refrain that there are only 32 jobs available, but if you go to a team with a bad owner with a quick trigger, it could be the last job you get. Quote
CMRivdogs Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 Multiple reports indicate that Eberfus is staying with the Bears. However he'll be looking for a new OC and DC. Quote

buddha Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 if pete carroll remains in the organization i can guarantee you where harbaugh IS NOT going to... 1 Quote
