RandyMarsh Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Jags elect to punt down on 4th and 2 down by 27. I don't care if it was at your own 40 you have to go for it in that situation. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Jags trying to claw back into this one, down 27-14 now. That last TD drive was a good one but when down 3 scores in the 2nd half you'd prefer it not to take over 7 minutes. Still a stop away from really being back in this one. Quote
buddha Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 are the chargers gonna charger this one? Quote
RandyMarsh Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Considering they were kicking from the 50 cause of the penalty I may have tried the onside there if I were the Jags, even if you didn't get it the Chargers likely would've only been at their 38 yard line, instead they kick it away and end up at their 25 so only a 13 yard difference. RandyMarsh Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Yes Herbert flopped but still a stupid decision by Walker in that situation, just a killer penalty for Jacksonville. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 30-28 now with 5:30 left. LA ball on their 25. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Jags complete the comeback on a last second FG! Unbelievable collapse by SD and comeback by the Jags! Quote
Motown Bombers Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Yeah so I think Staley is getting fired. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 0% chance Staley can keep his job Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 (edited) Welp, if Harbaugh wants to go to the Chargers that job should be open. What a collapse by the Chargers having blown a 27 point lead against the Jaguars. I think Staley is probably out of a job after this. Edited January 15, 2023 by Mr.TaterSalad Quote

MichiganCardinal Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 I think Sean Payton to the Chargers might be a sure thing by this time next week. Does the Rooney Rule apply if you trade for a coach? Quote

Harbaugh has the California ties, but Payton would be a great choice as well. He'd fit right in with a great young QB like Herbert and guys like Eckler and Williams around him. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Jacksonville's last loss was to the Lions. The Lions beat this team 40-14. The Lions put them away unlike the Chargers. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 (edited) What was really amazing about that comeback is that the Jags did it without forcing a single TO or doing something crazy like converting an onside kick. The defense just shutdown the opposition and they drove down the field every time. Gotta give credit to Lawrence for bouncing back after that terrible start but also to the Jags defense, not only for what they did in the 2nd half but how they didn't let things get even worse in the 1st half. The offense turned the ball over 5 an times giving the Chargers great field position each time and another short punt that gave LA the ball near FG range so theoretically they could've given up 42 points there but instead they held them to 17 on those possessions. Major difference. Edited January 15, 2023 by RandyMarsh Quote

Why? Because Staley is a really shitty coach. That Chargers team has Super Bowl talent on it and they've never come close. Quote
