Motown Bombers Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 My Twitter feed for some reason is getting overwhelmed with Bears fans and they think Justin Fields is the greatest thing ever. They're showing highlights saying Rodgers couldn't do X and Fields is already the best QB in the division. It's insanity. Quote

It leads to delusions of grandeur and paranoia when exposed for extended periods of time and/or when combined with alcohol. I know from many years of experience. Quote

MichiganCardinal Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 If the Saints dig their heels in on Payton, they will walk away with nothing and his contract with them will expire after 2024. They aren't going to get two 1sts for him. I'm not sure there is a coach in the league who is worth two 1sts. Quote

"League sources" i.e. Green Bay Packers front office executives. It is really surprising to me how antagonistic they seem to have been with Rodgers. I get that Rodgers is a little prickly, but how they've handled their transition, going back to the drafting of Jordan Love, seems ridiculously short sighted. These days, if you are taking a QB in Round 1, you better expect that person to play right away. Instead, they wasted a chance to get a QB in his prime one of several talented offensive players still on the board (Tee Higgins and D'Andre Swift included). Say what you will about Karen Rodgers, but Green Bay really botched this transition. A Hall of Fame player deserves better than this. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 I don't have a problem with it. Payton quit on the Saints when things were looking tough to pursue another job. What he should do if we wants out of the contract is to call their bluff and see he is returning to coach the Saints. Either they fire Allen or they let Payton out of the contract. Quote

Either they fire Allen or they let Payton out of the contract. Neither of them benefits if a team wants him but doesn't want to meet the asking price. They're better off accepting a 2nd Round pick for him than saying no and making him collect his massive paycheck on Fox. The length of time that is passing without new coaches being hired (sans Reich in Carolina) probably says a lot. I would expect DeMeco Ryans, Jonathan Gannon, and Shane Steichen to all be getting second interviews at some point and at least 2/3 to get a job. If any of these teams were going for broke for Payton, the deal would have been done by now. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 Mike Shanahan cost his team 7 points by not challenging a dropped catch. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 49ers onto their 4th string QB Josh Johnson as Purdy gets knocked out with a wrist injury. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 Brock Purdy out now. Guess we will really see if the 49ers can just plug in any QB. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 Crazy quarter. FOX camera crew seems to be failing spectacularly so far, not that it's easy to anticipate a ball hitting a wire. Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 Wow, down to QB #4 for SF. That's a tough, tough break. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 WOW, I can't imagine a team having to go through 4 starting QBs in one season. I think Philly is going to run away with this in the second half. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 The Niners with a capable QB may have won this, and the Super Bowl. Josh Johnson probably shouldn’t have a job next season. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 Was that Hutch in a Super Bowl halftime promo? Quote

MichiganCardinal Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 Johnson out with a possible head injury. Purdy is in again, but might have emergency QB Christian McCaffery now. Quote

Motown Bombers Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 Not going to lie, I want to see McCaffery at QB. I imagine it would be similar to having Justin Fields at QB. 1 Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 I was out running errands - what happened (in graphic detail) to Brock Purdy? Quote

He had his arm hit as he threw. Didn't look like much, but he was seen telling Shanahan that he couldn't go, and the broadcast reported later that there was nerve damage. He should be okay, but doesn't have feeling in his hand, which obviously makes it hard to grip and throw the ball. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 BROCK PURDY IS BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 If Purdy can overcome this and bring this team back..............talk about a story Quote
