Deleterious Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 I always felt these two got along better than the media wanted them to. Damn near everyone ever associated with F1 had some social media post today about Seb. Almost all saying what a great person he is. Quote
Deleterious Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 Haas has some big upgrades this weekend. Magnussen gets them this weekend and Mick will at a later race. Quote
Hongbit Posted July 31, 2022 Author Posted July 31, 2022 (edited) It’s another Sunday of how does Ferrari fuck this one up. They should be able to double podium but will most likely be lucky to just have both cars finish. I’d like to see Charles rebound and go into the break with a win but not sure his car will make it. Prediction is Max charges up the field and holds off Carlos with George taking the show position. Edited July 31, 2022 by Hongbit Quote
Hongbit Posted July 31, 2022 Author Posted July 31, 2022 This wind has a chance to make this podium a total mess Quote
Deleterious Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Man that was a fantastic move on George by Leclerc. Quote

Hongbit Posted August 1, 2022 Author Posted August 1, 2022 I’m not sure I get it but I assume the pay is damn good. Quote
Deleterious Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Seems odd to me as well. I guess Alpine has a young driver they want to promote next year. Oscar Piastri won the F3 title in 2020 and the F2 title last year. Every time I hear his name I confuse him with Oscar Pistorius. I imagine Alpine hopes he is fast like him but without the murdering. 1 Quote
Deleterious Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Binotto gave an interview and said this weekends GP was not winnable and tire choice was not the decisive reason. Quote

You’ve got to admire his consistency. His explanations make about as much sense as his decisions. The winner started 10th and 2nd started 7th. Definitely unwinnable starting 2nd and 3rd. Deleterious Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Ferrari should just hand her a blank check. Quote
Hongbit Posted August 1, 2022 Author Posted August 1, 2022 Maybe I’m completely wrong on this one but Ferrari doesn’t seem like the place that would be on board with a woman in a major strategy role. Can’t imagine many females breaking into important jobs in the old boys club in Maranello Quote
Hongbit Posted August 2, 2022 Author Posted August 2, 2022 Lewis owns a home in Vail or Aspen and spends a good portion of the off-season there. Quote
Deleterious Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 F1 offseason might compare to the NBA. Possibly even better since the offseason happens during the season, which is insane. Cliffsnotes: Piastri was looking for a 2022 seat and couldn't find one. Signed as a reserve driver with Alpine with the hopes of getting a seat in 2023. It looked like Alpine was going to keep Alonso another year and have Piastri drive for Williams. He didn't like that and signed a deal with McLaren, I guess for Daniels seat. Alpine claims if they offer him a seat it keeps their contract current and he can't drive for McLaren. Quote

Deleterious Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 On a serious note. I realize his stake will be small but there isn't a better investment than a pro sports team. The Pistons were bought in 2011 for $325M and Forbes values them at $1.5B today. Quote
