Deleterious Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 Good job by Charles hanging on for 2nd. Ferrari goes 2/2 in Constructors and WDC. Seb gets a point in his last race. Quote
Deleterious Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 (edited) Alonso in the Aston Martin today at testing. Looks pretty nice without the ads on it. Edited November 23, 2022 by Deleterious Quote
Deleterious Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 Looks like Daniel will be the reserve driver for Red Bull. Quote
Screwball Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 OFF TOPIC; From the sophisticated world of F1 & Indy (upside down airplanes that contact the ground), to the wild and woolly world of ovals, horsepower, and dirt. Quote

You could get a Hollywood stunt crew together and they would struggle to recreate that. Pretty amazing. Quote
Deleterious Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 Interesting to see how that Vegas track shakes out. Looks like it has the potential to be a new Monza. Quote
Hongbit Posted November 24, 2022 Author Posted November 24, 2022 That’s quite a turn in 5 days from Vegas to Abu Dhabi. Literally halfway around the world. Quote
Deleterious Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 The Italian press is crazy. It seems they have Binotto quitting or getting fired every other day. Multiple people replacing him. Of course none of it had been true yet. Quote
Deleterious Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 Finally. Official word from Ferrari that Binotto will offer his resignation effective December 31. It was posted on their site. Quote
Hongbit Posted November 29, 2022 Author Posted November 29, 2022 We knew it had to happen. He was lucky to have been brought back this season and the team still made treacherous mistakes. Their cars were much faster than Mercedes and 2nd place never should have come down to the last race. This bodes well for Ferarri going forward. Quote
Screwball Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 (edited) Off topic again, but the racing audience might like this. I follow this guy on Twitter & Youtube. He is incredible. Edited November 30, 2022 by Screwball Quote

Deleterious Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Saw a report that Grosjean will join Lamborghini and drive for their endurance team. Sounds like he will drive their GT car and LMDh car. The article I read said he will also continue with Indy Car. Quote
Deleterious Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Andretti just broke ground on a $200m facility for their Indy Car team. The article said it could also house facilities for their possible F1 team. Quote
Deleterious Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 The FIA is dropping the vaccine mandate for 2023. Quote

It would limit the amount of factory talent that you could poach from the existing European teams. Hard to get people to move from England, Germany, or Italy to Indianapolis. That is an interesting point. I guess I don't know how much F1 experience is needed for these types of things. We do have a few engineers over here and we do make stuff go fast. Honda did OK building an engine 10,000 miles from London. I know a guy who used to build chassis for Ferrari during the Schumacher days that is looking for a job. Quote
Deleterious Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 Williams announced its team principal and technical director both are leaving. Honda registered with the FIA so they can build engines in 2026. Not exactly sure why they left to begin with. There was an article today saying Vasseur is the guy for Ferrari. That the deal was done quite a while ago. Seems odd if true. Why not just announce it? Quote
