Deleterious Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Not sure Carlos had it in him, but he deserved a shot to attack Max on that restart. Still some great racing at the end. Quote
Hongbit Posted March 27, 2022 Author Posted March 27, 2022 Interesting to see how they handle the fact there was a yellow flag for the last lap that it appeared nobody seemed to honor. Quote
Hongbit Posted March 27, 2022 Author Posted March 27, 2022 These cars are doing exactly what they envisioned. Can’t wait until we get on some circuits with many attacking areas. Quote
Deleterious Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 I think we need a new director in the TV truck. I don't really care or need to see that Lewis is making a move for 12th as Max and Charles are battling it out for 1st. Quote

Hongbit Posted March 27, 2022 Author Posted March 27, 2022 I have no doubt that Marc will get it figured out but it may end up being too late for the title races. Would love see 3 way battle at the top. Quote

Obviously every race is different, but it didn’t take long for Max to decide to just wait until the second DRS zone. That said, Charles had the same opportunity after that and didn’t get it done, so fair play to both. Definitely exciting. I think it may have been a blessing in disguise for Red Bull when Checo got unlucky on his pit stop decision, allowing max to move ahead and go one on one with Charles. Quote
Deleterious Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 Charles looked like he was going to get it done with two laps left. But the double yellow made him slow down and stop his attempt. He had expended his battery and had nothing left for the last lap. Just a bit of bad luck on the double yellows there. Quote
Hongbit Posted March 29, 2022 Author Posted March 29, 2022 This becomes a much bigger issue now the teams are on a $140M spending cap. Anything they use for repairs leaves less for development. This issue has to be even worse for Williams now that Latifi has shown he’s incapable of bringing them care home safely. Quote
Deleterious Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 Thing I don't get. They have all of this info at the fingertips and they have a radio. Yet you still see them hang the old fashion pit boards over the wall down the front stretch. Quote
Deleterious Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 Wow. The Vegas race is starting at 10PM PST. So 1AM here. That kind of sucks. Quote
CMRivdogs Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Think the kid has a chance? Just the focus at age 7 tells you something Quote

I’m very interested to see how they handle what is basically two long DRS zones with a couple turns in the middle. If you get DRS at the first checkpoint do you keep it through the next two zones? And looking at the second checkpoint before turn 13, it really feels like you want to be in second heading into that turn. Anyone else staying up / waking up for qualifying at 1am? I think this will just be an early morning on-demand watch before breakfast type of thing. Quote
Deleterious Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 I think I would want to pass in zone 1. Then use zone 2 to build a lead larger than 1 second. Zones 3 and 4 wont even be activated for the car following if you can do that. I would be staying up tonight and tomorrow. But I am usually up at this time anyway. Quote
Deleterious Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 Watching last night was sort of odd. I know the NBA and others shut down first. But for some reason I associate them cancelling the Australian GP to be the start of Covid. Quote
Deleterious Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Charles might be in some trouble. Hopefully Sainz can move up and at least be a factor in pit strategy. Quote
Hongbit Posted April 10, 2022 Author Posted April 10, 2022 Excited for this one. I am going to try and stay up to watch live but much like Silver Arrows podium chances, not very likely. Quote
Hongbit Posted April 10, 2022 Author Posted April 10, 2022 Mercedes will try two different setups in the race with Lewis running a heavier car as they try to figure out how to stop their porpoising issue. Quote
Deleterious Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Sucks for Max he had to retire. But I don't think he had a shot at Charles today. He was constantly 5-7 seconds back. Quote
