Lee, I agree that a woman should be able to do with her body as she pleases and the law says that and I respect that.

I was speaking more to the idea of a  fetus and a baby both are one in the same but catagorized differently. Do they both have heart beats? Individual DNA? I just HATE the argument "Ugggh you can't call it a baby yet, its just a fetus". Sceince would call a fetus a living being, but thats not convenient in this conversation. We can all agree a very large percentage of left leaning folks are Athiest or pick and choose what part of Christianity that is convientent enough to say the are believers. My point being we paint a fetus to be a blob of tissue so no need to call it a baby until one amazing day its not the same as it was yesterday. l call BS if you follow the sceince....

I think it's all very complex.  It is difficult to say definitively when life starts.  I don't know if there is a magical point where I can say for sure where a fetus becomes a person.  I probably sound strongly pro-choice, but I am actually ambivalent.  I certainly don't think abortion is a positive thing, but I'd rather give women a reasonable interval in which to make a decision.

I will add that I think some people who call themselves Christians also pick and choose what parts of Christianity that they like. I am an agnostic myself. My values have been shaped by Christian parents, so I know that's part of me but I am not religious.

If Trump decides to run the 2024 it could get interesting.  There's a lot of us that won't vote for him in the primary.  He's the bully they don't want to go against right now but the silent majority might not let him get the nomination.  Its kind of like in 2016 when the silent majority put him in the WH.

If he says he's running then I suspect all the others will step aside.  Will someone like DeSantis still run?  How can they tiptoe around him at that point?  In 2016 they were saying everything about him that I say now.  Even until election day they were at arm's length.  Remember Ted Cruz's "Vote your conscience" at the convention?

I can't see any of them backtracking now.  Those that have stood up to him are not welcome in the party.

I know lots of women.  Some are selfish.  In general, they are less selfish than men.

I don't think women are inherently less selfish, per se, than they are acculturated by a male-dominated society to performatively act less selfish in public to keep up social appearances and maintain communal harmony.

I might go so far as to say this is all of it, unless you believe there is a genetic basis for women being less selfish than men?

There could be.  Men and women are physiologically different.  Could there not also be inherent behavioral differences?  There are much more similarities than differences, but I do not think we can rule out the idea that there might be inherent differences beyond the obvious physiological ones.

You see all kinds of studies that have tried to determine if little girls really have different tendencies than little boys - but since children begin acculturation the second they are born, it will never be easy to separate nature from nurture.

I think Chris Christie is definitely running and I think this media blitz he's on is a test run.   For DeSantis/Cruz/Noem, simply running against Trump will be a slap in the face to Trump and cults always follow the leader.

He'll try and get in before Trump and once Trump enters, he'll indicate he's thinking about stepping down.  But he'll stay in and focus on the dems, if he does say anything "bad" against Trump, like point out his age or note he'd be a lame duck president, he'll backtrack on it the next day praising Trump.  He'll hope to get the folks that refuse to vote for Trump and he's looking to cash in on that even if he doesn't win the primary against Trump, he'll have the lead come 2028.

Yep, that's what happens when a country is reopening from a pandemic. The US hasn't exactly gotten past the pandemic since the virus is worse than ever. States had to reopen which employed the people that weren't being paid to stay home any longer. Basically it falls under the "Nothing to see here folks" catagory. I do give Biden credit for being a good politician and taking credit for something he had nothing to with.

We have a REAL President instead of a brainless fucking MORON like Trump. Trump the Lying MF'er would have had this country in the toilet if his coup attempt on Jan 6th had succeeded.

This country is still a Democracy and actually has an economy because of Biden. You need to start worshipping him instead of your love-affair with fascists. Or are you already a Proud Boy? Is that it? You ARE a fascist?
