Jim Cowan
I think that there will be some very unhappy members of the pitching staff who will most definitely want Hill out there, and will not want to see Willi anywhere on the field.

He fell apart after that. Oh, wow, I forgot he was a player to be named later in the David Wells deal.

RatkoVarda
Slugging .301 as a team now. At some point it cannot be written off to random variance; so either 1) Coolbaugh has done something; 2) Manfred is sending dead balls to Comerica; or 3) we are part of an alien experiment in phycological torture

buddha
half the board wanted them to deaden the balls. now they have and predictably everything sucks.

Dead balls are good for the game. If there are really dead balls this year and it's not just a weather thing, the Tigers will need to adjust long term. MLB will surely liven them up though.

That is true every Spring, although probably a little more this year with the shortened spring training. The home run rates and batting averages across baseball will go up soon. SoCalTiger
I wonder if Tampa thinking the ball would be deaden contributed to their decision to trade Meadows and ask for Parades who's main strength is walking. I think the Yankees thought the same thing which is why they passed on all the high priced shortstops snd opted for defense in obtaining Falefa for short and dumping Sanchez ? With Tampa, I don't know that it was anything more than Josh Lowe being ready for a callup and Meadows being the odd man out. Paredes is already back down in Durham after a brief callup. Useful Idiot
HOORAY!! The drought has ended. After 28 innings the Tigers score two runs on a sacrifice fly and a fielder's choice. I can just feel the swagger!! 😇 Edited May 10, 2022 by Useful Idiot
Dtrain72
If AL doesnt at least seriously try to/inquire about getting Montas to add to this lineup, he's either a bumbling toolbag, or Chris won't allow it, which would, in turn, make him a bumbling toolbag who should probably not own a baseball team.
