sabretooth Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 BB is a serious 3pt shooter and he also is a high pct shooter from everywhere else. Hes old and he reportedly plays poor D, but having a versatile sharpshooter is something I have wanted to see for a long time. Quote

NYLion Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 (edited) Not much to dislike about this trade. The Pistons got the better player who fills a bigger need, the better trade chip if need be and clear even more cap space next offseason. Weaver's been killing it the last few trades after a few questionable ones in the past. Confusing trade for Utah but Ainge is a confusing GM (president or whatever his title is over there). Deleterious Posted September 23, 2022 Author Posted September 23, 2022 If he was a trade chip he would have been sent to a contender now. Skill wise all contenders would want him but his contract makes it pretty difficult to do. Most contenders are 2-3 guys eating up 90%-110% of the cap and the rest of the roster filled in by guys on the MLE, vet minimums, or cheap rookie deals. It would be hard for them to trade off $19M in salary to obtain him. Quote

They also said his future with the team will be decided at a later date. So the possibility of being fired is still there. The guy the Celtics named as his interim replacement has domestic violence charges against him. Quote
Betrayer Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 Nothing wrong with him having a relationship with a Celtics staff member if he works for the Pistons, right? Let's make it a do-over on that Casey vs Udoka hiring. Casey can move into the front office in a player development role. Quote

Deleterious Posted September 23, 2022 Author Posted September 23, 2022 ESPN finished their top 100 list. The top 5 were: 5: Steph 4: Embiid 3: Luka 2: Jokic 1: Giannis Quote

Personally I think Id probably put him ahead of Embiid but not sure I could go any higher. 1 Quote
buddha Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 i'd put steph at 2 behind giannis. 1 Quote

Makes "who is better" an 'it depends' question. 1 1 Quote
RandyMarsh Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 Btw unless I missed somebody Cade was the only Piston to make the list landing in the mid 30s, 1 spot ahead of Mobley for highest ranking for last year's rookies. From this class Paulo, Jabari and Murray made it the latter of which surprised me cause I thought the talk was that the NBA folks like Ivey more but he didn't make the list. Quote

Deleterious Posted September 23, 2022 Author Posted September 23, 2022 That dude is a real POS. Boston found out in July and started their investigation. She moved herself and kid to Boston two weeks ago and he still had not told her. Quote
Betrayer Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 Getting crazier as more information comes to light. Now I'm hearing that the phrase "consensual relationship" that kept getting used over and over was put forward by Udoka's camp and maybe things weren't so "consensual" as originally reported. Quote
Deleterious Posted September 24, 2022 Author Posted September 24, 2022 I think he is a dead man walking. The Celtics are just going to use the suspension to get their ducks in a row so they can fire him with cause and not pay his contract. Quote
Deleterious Posted September 24, 2022 Author Posted September 24, 2022 The league announced today that locker rooms will be open to reporters this season. First time since COVID. Quote

I know it's a subjective award but I have a hard time putting Curry ahead of the back to back MVP. It's Giannis and Jokic then you can make an argument for #3 among Curry, Embiid and Luka. Quote
Deleterious Posted September 24, 2022 Author Posted September 24, 2022 History has not been kind to players of his size. But this kid is going to be amazing if he stays healthy. Quote
