You're right, incredible story.

I think something similar may have happened to Rick Wilson.   I seem to remember he was on TV and several ppl tweeted at him about a mole or something on his face.   I dont recall him disclosing what it was but he did say he was thankful they did that.

Gene Keady got remarried after his first wife passed away. His current wife made him ditch his legendary combover before marrying him. He said that ended up saving his life as he spotted some skin cancer underneath.

I feel fortunate to run with my wife who you all know is medical and we also run with a friend who is a doctor.  I joke with them that their job is to check me out for moles”.

Here's a quarter. Go pay a rat to gnaw that thing off your face.

That actress plays Carmela Soprano's mom.

when UM went remote fall '20, the admin was surprised to find the students all came to campus anyway and did a fine job of passing Covid around without ever going to class. With little to no transmission documented in classrooms, they've decided there is little point to going remote now. I guess we will see if that is still the correct logic for Omicron. With a 5 day quarantine, an asymptomatic positive test won't cost a student much class time. For me, the risk walking around the rest of A^2 right now is higher than it is on campus.

That combover was the first thing that came to my mind when you mentioned his name.   Glad they found it, crazy story!

Unless I'm missing something, this is some Nobel prize level shit.   If you haven't read about this, they developed a vaccine and are sending how to make it everywhere for free.

A true hero.

Snipped thread....

Not sure if I posted anything about it, but for the past week my wife has had some medical issues requiring a few ER trips and a short stay in the hospital.  Another ER trip today and no guests allowed at this hospital.  My wife calls me from the waiting room.  She was ushered to a spot and some guy near her tells staff he's Covid positive, one of the staff members see's my wife back away and laughed as she told her 'oh honey, everyone has Covid here'.

So yeah, that's awesome.

I hope she's OK and can stay out of there.

She's there at least for the night.  I hope she gets better care than she did at Beaumont.

The SO was working for Oakwood when Beaumont bought them out. Having spent most of her career at tertiary care facilities she was sort of hoping Beaumont would upgrade the level of sophistication in the clinical labs, which was pretty middling. No such luck.

Hope your wife is doing well.  The guy at the hospital was probably right that everybody has it the way its spreading through everyone right now.

My wife now has to treat some patients in the ER as there's no room in ICU.  While down there an 18 year old patient, with covid, was wandering around the halls looking for his grandma who was going to bring him Subway.... without a mask.  Staff had to hurry him back into his cubby spot and tell him he can't leave and to keep his mask on.

Nobody did that. I simply mentioned they don't do continual, heavy, strenuous physical labor for 8-10 hours. So a mask doesn't inhibit their breathing as much. The same is true about cops and teachers, but that doesn't mean I'm bashing them to point that out.

Your accusation is simply dishonest and slanderous. But I'm convinced you knew that when you said it.

Please tell us that the only valid stress someone can suffer from their job is physical stress, and that constant job-related emotional stress and intellectual stress mean nothing.

Come on, say it outright.

You're speaking to a real He-Man... so you need to speak in the same language. Otherwise, He-Man is not capable of understanding advanced language. I find speaking in Neanderthal usually does the trick:

"Me big man. Me tough man. Me throw 60-pound rocks all day. Me tough man. You woman crybaby from stitch wound? Not tough man. Crybaby woman. Boohoo. Stitch wound and cry. Not tough man like me."

Another breakthrough case!

Chaz! Get vaccinated against his posts. Ignore! Quoting makes him show up for those of us who don't!
