From a **** the GOP standpoint, I couldn't agree more.

I hope the more reserved democratic decision to work with him to get some more stuff done which allows Biden to campaign on working with a hostile congress pays off with independents though.

I also noticed they ain't got **** done since theu saved him either.   The biggest news out of congress was a different hearing that turned into a roast.

This "governing" excuse for saving maga mike hasn't happened.  As was easily foreseeable

True, but my guess is they got some stuff done in exchange for support should the QOP pull their ****.

As stupid as the GOP is, I don't think there was any way we would have ended up with speaker Jeffries.

So instead, give the GOP support that they won't deal with looking like absolute buffoons like they have already.  Get something out of it.  The MTG, Boeberts, and Gaetz's of the party will continue to MTG/Boebart and Gaetz, just like a Lion is going to Lion.  So you still get the headlines that continues to show the GOP as a mess while still being able to show some bipartisan progress.

Even if you fully support the NIH and Fauci, this has to be a little bit concerning, right?

I don’t know who the hell Adam Adrzejewski is, other than Google telling me he is the founder of something called OpenTheBooks.com and he wrote a book in support of Trump draining the swamp, but when I read a story about this from an actual journalist, then I’ll start paying attention.

I definitely wouldn't be aiming for a Speaker Jeffries out of not saving Maga Mike, but I do think another Unified Reich speaker **** show in congress while the Unified Reich leader is getting convicted is way better than what we have going on now.

The Dems extracted a ****load from Maga Mike before they saved him.  They should have let him get vacated.

I think after Maga Mike was saved, Moskowitz did submit legislation to name a federal penn after trump so maybe I'm wrong about letting mike get vacated, that was some good governing that would have been precluded by a speaker fight.

Conclusion

Though correlational, her medical team surmised that the mRNA vaccine may have contributed to this presentation. The side effects of COVID-19 infection and vaccination are still incompletely understood. Though complications are rare, clinicians should be aware of presentations like this one.

Millions of people got multiple shots and this didn't happen.

Did anyone claim that vaccines have absolutely zero side effects? I mean claims by people in the NIH promotion the vaccine, not claims said to be made by caricatures made up by the RWM.

Either way, a vaccine can both tend to generate side effects in a tiny portion of people and still be safe for the general population to use.

this is such a key understanding. There is nothing you do in immunology that someone somewhere won't have a bad reaction to, but you can't let that chance stop you from doing what you need to do save the masses. If you are that person, it's a tragedy - absolutely, but you can't expect society to sacrifice its well being for your bad genetic luck. It's one of those risks in life like being struck by lightning.

The truth is there are no easy answers. It's true that sometime when the benefit to the many is marginal and the risk to the few is great, treatments are not pursued, but this is never an easy calculus for anyone and as a society you have to do the best you can knowing some people will always end up unhappy with the result, and maybe justifiably so.

It's another reason you need good politics rather than one dominated by big money and corporate interest groups. Those are the factors that make getting to good faith government decisions harder and less likely to be trusted.

Initially the "correct" response regarding side effects/injuries was to completely dismiss it, maybe concede one might get a slight fever.  The narrative was to mock anyone that questioned it and point to the history of vaccines, which as a whole has been a positive game changer for humans.  It wasn't just "normies" either, it was the medical community that didn't like questions about it, the public response was 'Please just talk with your doctor'.  My wife got her first Covid booster and flu shot at the same time in part because my wife asked her doctor if she could get them together based on concerns due to her own health history and her doctor scoffed at her for even questioning it.   Here we are years later and while she's got most food back, she still can't eat tomatoes, strawberries, spinach, and has constant pain in her joints and her doctor's response now is 'with your auto-immune history, I probably shouldn't have told you to get the shots together, whoops'.   I added the whoops, not the doctor.

I was thinking about your wife's situation while I was reading SkyBlue's link.   That really is pretty crappy man.

In your opinion, do you think what happened to your wife has happened on a broader scale?   I'm not going to argue either way, just wondering your opinion.

This should not have happened but I think your situation is as much a part of a broader one with doctors and patients across the board than just about how science in general generates public understanding on new tech. In today's production line medicine, patients have to get more adamant about what they want when the medical establishment constantly tells us to listen to them like they will have all the answers in that 15 min visit window. Doctors have to listen with more priority to what their patients say even if it violate that 15 min target. Regardless of the what your doc thought he did or didn't know about immuno and what the national conversation was - and I don't recall the practice of getting dual shots ever even being part of the national discussion - this was a case where there was no medical reason for him not to accede to your request for caution if you believed you had reason to be more comfortable with it. You weren't trying to be an anti-vaxxer. Docs sometimes don't like to believe their patients can read or know their own histories in more detail than they do. That's probably because they have a lot more crazy patients than ones than ones whose concerns are well grounded, but that just means people have to be even more willing to tell their docs exactly how they will agree to be treated to cut through the noise. I wish there were some way to put the toothpaste back in the tube for your wife - did she find a new doctor?

So, guess it depends on a persons definition of a 'broader scale'.  I have discussed this with other medical professionals (not doctors, I don't know too many of them) that when they know about the auto-immune issues of her, say they would advise against doubling up on vaccines at one time now.  So I assume it's happened enough for your average health care person to at least consider it as a possibility.  When they finally ruled everything else out and said it was serum syndrome related to both of the shots together, they gave us a number of how many others were in the same ballpark as her and it was in the teens, I can't remember if that was even state or possibly even a national number.  So certainly not widespread by any means.

As a whole the benefit of society outweighs the few.  That said, I do wonder if we lived back in Warren and she had her old doctor, vs living in northern Macomb (red area), if things would have been different.  Was her doctor here just tired of hearing MAGA folks bitch about the Covid vaccine and wasn't thinking of her history?  At the time would her history make any difference (I have never found any consensus on this)? Would her old doctor in a 'bluer' area had more patience with her concern and maybe offered up to take them separately?  Even if so, it's possible she still could have reacted this way and doubling up on the vaccines only improved the chances.  Who knows.

What I do know is I don't want people taking my wife's experiences as an anecdote as to why vaccines are bad.

That's a whole other story between me and her, lol.  Short answer, no.  That said, she has two specialists she sees regularly that she loves and they help advocate for her with her family doc.

Unbelievable.

M Den co-owner blames pandemic for retailer's bankruptcy (freep.com)

So you are saying that the thing that happened 4 years ago which the federal government provided generous subsidies to overcome and a tidal wave of fan interest in merch was an insurmountable problem for your organization?

I personally know people who spent at least $500 each time they were in the Detroit metro to get their swag from this place over the past three seasons.

Its kinda like Boeing having all its problems in a fiscal environment where this a major war in Europe and unprecedented space exploitation was ongoing.  At some point its criminal.

Pretty unbelievable that this happened right after Michigan’s national championship. Talk about mismanagement.

Someone noted no-one has started a game thread for M for this season. When you follow winning big with a season with a dim outlook, I guess interest falls fast.

Are you kidding?  I seriously think that's underselling Sherone Moore and that team.
