i suspect rodgers and the packers will both be fined and the pack will lose a low round draft pick.  the same fines they handed out last year.  maybe a little worse.

Well the NFL is in a bit of a tricky spot, because Rodgers didn't actually hide anything from the team or the NFL. Both the team and the NFL in general simply turned a blind eye to Rodgers flouting the rules. If they try to hold Rodgers and/or Packers accountable, what is the NFL's punishment for ignoring the violations all this time?

To me, it almost has to be a "now-now, don't do that again or you will get in trouble" situation, otherwise they have to try to spin their own involvement in ignoring the behavior.

That's true, they have kind of stuck themselves between a rock and a hard place.

Thats not what Joe Rogen told me.

I'm glad I didn't come here arguing that other presidents would have been just as bad as poor helpless Trump with respect to COVID.    Everyone knows that take is ridiculous,  but I love piling on.

With regard to MI’s numbers there was some kind of error on Wednesday which showed a dramatic drop and those cases were made up on Fridays totals.

overall though I don’t really know what else there is to do but just accept what’s going to happen and hope vaccinating kids has a big impact. Masking is sporadic and I am thinking at this point does it matter?  If 1/4 of people at any given time in a mall are wearing one then is it even effective?

im starting to see places in doors ike sporting events and concerts where nobody has a mask so… is this it?   It’ll be what it will be. Not sure waiting it out will take place.  India has gone six months after their huge delta spike and that surprised me. Do they have immunity ?

I went to a memorial service on Saturday.  I had to show proof of vaccination at the door, and keep my mask on the whole time unless I was eating, same rules as everywhere else.  The province is talking about relaxing those requirements in February, and I don't really want to.

Someone I know went to Germany and that’s how it was there. Nobody is really requiring it in the states. Maybe a store here and there and some schools and most doctor offices still. At least in the Detroit area.

Mr doctor or dentist office doesn't even require a mask.  My work does but doesn't enforce how its worn so there are a lot of chin guards.

Wasn't this basically the same reason that Bonsonaro was almost brought up on genocide charges in Brazil?

For my Chicago peeps.. what's it like there?  I'm coming in the last week of January for the weekend to see a concert.  Staying downtown next to the Chicago Theater where the show is.  Flying into Midway Friday afternoon and will just spend the weekend downtown hitting up the typical tourist places before the show Saturday night.  Are people masking everywhere and is it required?

As of today, masking indoors is an Illinois state requirement, and compliance, at least in the city, is practically 100%. Very rarely do you see anyone flout it. In fact, you will still see people walking alone on the streets outside while masked. I think that's going too far, but hey, they're certainly free to do so.

you have to wear one inside, so people do.  when im on the train its about 90% compliance.

i went to the movies last night and people wore their masks for the most part, even after the movie started (i didnt, i was eating popcorn, but most other people did).

keep your eyes open down there, there's been a lot crime lately.  you'll be ok, just dont be stupid.

are you staying close to the theater?  its about 4 blocks from my office.

I wouldn't worry much about crime around Chicago Theater. There's tons of people walking around all the time all night, especially on weekends. And random outdoor crime is way, way less likely during the last week of January, which is the coldest time of the year. regardless of the calendar, though, it's certainly no worse there than it is around Comerica Park on any given night.

Of course, if you're cavorting around town at three or four in the morning, then all bets are off. Nothing good happens on the streets of any big city at three or four in the morning.

Nope... none of that.  My wife barely makes it past 10 pm.  We won't be pulling a Risky Business.... I want to hit up Buddy Guy's place but with the band that's in town that we are going to see it might be super crowded as they have a tendency to make appearances there after their shows during their Chicago Residency and the fans know about it.  A few years ago when they did that Buddy got up and  was playing with Susan and he asked her "Where's that fucking Husband of yours?"  "He's back on the bus counting the money"

Covid is definitely in my neighborhood.   I'm hearing a lot of people who have it or have someone in their household quarantining.  I think it's more at one point in time than in any other time during the pandemic I think.

shootings downtown are up 220% since 2019. thefts are up.  robberies are up. crime is way up downtown.

i mean, if youre in bed by 10, the chances of somebody mugging you go down quite a bit!  lol.

have you been there at night recently?  i think its because there just arent as many people as there used to be, so you notice the people milling around that you wouldnt normally notice just because there are usually so many people.  and there are a lot more younger people around because i think so many people have moved there in the last few years.

i'm only there on occasional work days and am out by 5 or 6 but its definitely noticeable to me.  but oblong's from detroit, nobody will fuck with you if youre from detroit, lol.

I'm going to surprise her with the trip.  I had casually mentioned going to see them that weekend and she said "yeah, sounds good".  I worked out arrangements with my other son and mother in law to take care of my other son that weekend.  Hotel wasn't expensive at all and I got the flights for free with my miles.   Definitely go to the museum as when we came there before with the kids that wasn't something they wanted to do.   Will spring it on her Friday morning to pack up, our flight leaves at 1.  Masks don't bother us at all. Was just curious on the situation there.  Sounds like it's stricter there than here in MI.
