I'll take the W.  You agree with the tweet.   Capitalism was ill-equipped without government help.  You're arguing the same thing.

Yup, Covid has pretty much made everyone look stupid at one time or another.  Just pointing out that if government was in charge here, we’re still would have been fucked.  I’d argue that capitalism allowed us to get testing ramped up better more quickly though.

CDC says omicron is 73% of new infections last week.

Given the rampant spread we’ve seen in sports since they test all the time it makes me really wonder if we’ve all been exposed already?

I think about this all the time and even more so now. Something that spreads this fast, it feels inevitable.

Study: Association of Rates of Obesity with Voting Patterns in the 2016 Presidential Election

One of the hot topic items related to Covid is how people with higher rates of preexisting comorbidities die from Covid. In particular, those who are obese are more likely to suffer serious health effects from catching Covid. I was browsing through a study on obesity rates and the 2016 electorate. Unsurprisingly, there were higher rates of obesity among those who voted for Trump. So not only do Republicans have the problem of not getting vaccinated, they have the problem of having a higher percentage of their voting base suffer serious health problems and possibly event death from getting Covid-19.

Especially since they vote in person. Going about their day maskless makes them bait for the virus, hosts. Hopefully, they don't get someone sick who's not able to get vaxxed

Why are we so worried about people testing positive for a virus? Do you know how many viruses we carry on a regular basis?

So far omicron has only killed one old guy in Texas. Should we shut down society every time some old guy dies of something? Did old guys not die before covid came along?

NHL is 100% vaxxed (one player isn't). NBA and NFL are over 95% vaxxed. Yet all three are cancelling games because of players testing positive for a virus. They're not dying. They're not going to the hospital. They're not even sick.

If they are all contracting a virus with near 100% vax rates, what good is the vax? Why would anybody think promoting more jabs is helpful?

“We” aren’t doing anything. Individual businesses are making independent decisions that they feel is best for their staff and customers. Free market stuff. Live and let live.  Nobody is forcing them to do that. Either patronize them or not.  Don’t whine about it like a Karen.

Horse hockey. No company ever did this for the flu or previous ailments. They are doing it because of govt pressure, not making independent decisions.

The restaurant industry shut down willingly? What are you smoking? Companies are operating on 50% staffs willingly? Are you serious? If it was independent, free market stuff, they'd have been doing this long before covid and govt pressure.

The NBA was the first big organization to shut down and that was when major parts of the government were calling Covid a hoax.

No, it's 12-21-21. EVERY NHL player (but ONE) is vaxxed yet the NHL is having a covid epidemic. Doesn't the vax work? The ONE got covid, went through it fine, and now has natural immunity.

EVERY NBA player, but a handful, have been vaxxed, yet the NBA is having a covid epidemic. Doesn't the vax work?

NFL - wash, rinse, repeat.

How many pro players have died from covid? How many hospitalized? None? They why the hysteria?

Now, how many athletes (worldwide) have died after getting the vax? A LOT more than have died of covid.
