Raise your hand if your Christmas Eve , and/or Christmas Day plans have been tossed out the window due to an exposure in the family.... (just praying the pcr test, which can’t be taken by my grand-niece until Sunday, comes back negative)

It's typical Libertarian arrogance.  They are always try to teach us their ideology as if nobody has ever thought about freedom and lack of government interference.  In reality, many intgelligent people have gone through the Libertarian phase already, but figured out that a productive civiliized society can not function under such a simplistic ideology.

I think it's funny when they roll up here acting like they're crushing us..... with the same arguments that last 85 libertarians that posted here used.... before they either left or came to their senses

That would allow you to make your own choices and me to make my own. Why is it a problem to you if you can't get access to other people's earnings?

Canadians coming to the US are visitors and Mexicans are illegals.

Speaking of mob rule, I haven't seen a bunch of Trudeau supporters attack parliament in an attempt to overturn an election.

Interesting.

You didn't see much of an attack here, either. "Security" unlocked and opened the doors and most of the violence was done against the protestors.

If you prefer govt interference to freedom, there are plenty of options for you. Why do you insist on taking or limiting MY freedoms in the process of forfeiting yours? If you desire govt to be your nanny or daddy, you're free to do so.

I'm not against all governance, but I support as little govt control as possible.

Or maybe they have jobs and responsibilities and simply don't have the time to keep up with a gang of people who outnumber them.

I like freedom, but it comes with responsibility.  Your freedom should not interfere with my freedom.  There are very few things you can do in life that don't affect somebody else in some way.

You guys "are not against all governance".  You like governance that benefits you!

Why do you keep blaming the rest of us for “taking or limiting” your freedoms? Do you think we are the government?

In the last two week I've lost a friend and two co workers to Covid.  All have been vaccinated but apparently had underlying conditions or were 60+ years old. I hope the treatments that have been approved the last couple days have a positive result on the virus since the vaccines may help but don't appear to be the end all.  There is some discussion on the latest variant not being as severe and may not last as long.  I read somewhere that it might already be dying out in South Africa.

Very sorry to hear of the loss of your friend and coworkers. Yes, I am understanding the Omicron variant is less severe than the prior variants and that South Africa seems to be on the other side of the curve at this point.

Welcome back.

I don't know what thread to put this in so I'm going to put it here....

I have to go finish wrapping presents then going to visit parents for Christmas.  We've also scaled back but have not completely eliminated things.  Its just immediate family and not the big extended group.  Anyway, I hope everyone can set their political differences aside for a while and I wish all of you a safe and Merry Christmas!

Wife told me about a patient in their 40s that died. An overdose combined with COVID.  Family wanted an autopsy but balked when told of the price they’d have to pay since it’s not seemed necessary.  Their primary concern was whether they’d say died of COVID or something else
