oblong
As usual… Raphael gets it wrong. thr CDC director was asked about a study on vaccinated people. It was 78% of the vaccinated people in that study. so he agrees on the power of vaccination.
pfife
I'm seeing a lot of tweets from wingers that are something along the lines of what ted is doing above, which appears to be something like "it's just impacting people with pre-existing conditions" and apparently thinking that's some sort of flex. I think it's fucking disgusting. musta been a memo. Edited January 11, 2022 by pfife
Jim Cowan
I know that people are sick of the comparisons to the later years of the Weimar Republic but some of the similarities really are quite striking.
Archie
Im surprised it wasn't mentioned here that Justice Sotomayor is now a covid expert. During oral arguments she tried to help the Biden admin and said there are 100,000 with covid in the US in serious condition. This is over 90% more than there actually is. Talk about spreading false information. I thought the SCOTUS job was to weigh the facts and rule on the constitutionality of something and not argue for one side based on the Justice's political beliefs. Its kind of funny how the only Justice that complains about politics on the SCOTUS is the main one to voice her political opinion on the Bench. She also got skewered by the right over being caught maskless at a restaurant recently, despite the fact that all SCOTUS members are vaccinated and she is still attending virtually. Turns out that was a mistake and Politico issued a correction (which hardly anyone will see, especially on the right), so all is good. Something ran through our house this last week and Covid tests kept coming back negative too. My wife complained about the same things but she's still dealing with a lot of fallout from her allergic reaction so it's tough to differentiate. CDC chief Rochelle Walensky even commented on what she said and how it was wrong.
pfife
Archie has now said she said 2 different things, the first post was 100k w/ covid, the second was "about 100k children". It would be nice if you could get your story straight.
pfife
Regardless of what Archie thinks she said which is still evolving, my reponse is this - I like Sotomayor so her misinformation is acceptable. This is now the standard.

Motor City Sonics
Mucinex does okay at clearing sinuses. Vapo Rub and Vapo Steam don't do much (maybe psychologically)...I love the smell of Vicks Vapo Rub and use it on dry skin (elbows, feet). But NOTHING is better at clearing sinuses, at least for 5 minutes than this...

Soooooooo, what's Lyin' Ted got to say to Trump? The squawking about comorbidities is pretty insulting to anyone with the least bit of intellectual curiosity. Especially assuming, especially with the issues you raise being pretty prominent in American society, most Americans have at least one comorbidity, if not multiple. But it's yet another example of how blind partisanship just drives the narrative.

I'm just merely pointing out that Cruz is being cold and dismissive of people with pre-existing conditions and so he should be equally cold and dismissive to the man he worships in Trump. I agree, I don't think it would happen. The fact that Americans view fellow Americans who disagree with them as bigger adversaries than our actual foreign adversaries or a deadly virus is telling.
