Now, having read the actual indictment document, do we know where, and if , the boxes that were sent to Bedminster, if those have been recovered and examined for additional documents? Because there’s no indication about them in the indictment. And I don’t recall that there was ever a search warrant For Bedminster.

Am I missing something?

I suspect that the Bedminster details will come out at trial; we have literally seen the boxes being loaded/unloaded in NJ; so they had to either execute a warrant we don't know about, or have had a very good reason to think nothing there

Always keep in mind that when Trump announced while he was president that there would be a crackdown on the mishandling of secret documents by former administration officials—specifically Hillary—he was telling us exactly what he was going to do once he himself got out.

This is just pathetic

The broadcast was showing Joe Biden's speech in Washington, DC, side by side with Trump's rally in Bedminster, New Jersey

I wouldn't allow FNC to attend WH pressers for a while.

That’s Overthrow America Network bullshirt.

Any media industry pundit who thought Fox was going to be cowed after the Dominion crap and would change their evil ways is left holding their bag once again.

They dodge responsibility for this stuff by claiming that all the stuff after the 6pm news hour is "entertainment" but if this isn't shouting fire in a crowded theater, i don't know what is.

But Paul Ryan said recently Fox is important and that's why he stayed on the board of directors.

It's the same mentality as we see in Congress and with Trump's adminitration, they had to stay and they have to do whatever is necessary to stay, so that in the event they need to put the brakes on something, they are there.  Yet every crossroads, they pick the 'stay' path versus the 'it's time to push back' path.

The Capitalist class knows that if the Dems win 2024 marginal and corporate tax rates are going up, and since a Biden win probably carries Congress, we are going to get the full court press against Biden till then as the result, . They don't really care about the cultural issues and they don't really like Trump (e.g. Koch is going to spend primary money against Trump), but the sure foreknowledge that a Biden win is going to hit them in the wallet means nothing else matters.

This is what we are dealing with.  Nancy French is about as conservative a human being in the World.  Her husband David French and she are both very evangelical Christians.

The title of David French's last column in the NYT:

"‘Shiny Happy People,’ Fundamentalism and the Toxic Quest for Certainty"

this is a good quote

Quote

A healthy church can provide community. But it must also teach its members that certainty is elusive, humility is essential to the Christian faith and the will to power is antithetical to the example of Jesus. Otherwise, America’s conservative Christian communities will continue to face different versions of the same rigid fundamentalism. They’ll be tempted to follow more gurus like Bill Gothard.

This is really good too

Quote

The quest for certainty and control can tempt people of every faith and no faith. In religious circles it can manifest itself in ways that look strange to secular eyes, but I’ve seen people from all walks of American life and all ideological perspectives fall for gurus and fads. Life is hard, and we want answers — even, perhaps especially, where answers are impossible to find. We crave control, even when attempts to establish control sow destruction in our loved ones’ lives.

The Apostle Paul stated a universal human truth when he declared that “we see through a glass, darkly.” We can know things only “in part.” The Gothard movement and movements like it reject that sense of doubt. They purport to reveal all the deepest truths and answer all our most difficult questions. Yet no person possesses such wisdom. And if there is one lesson we should take from “Shiny Happy People,” it’s this: When people claim to personally light the path and clear away the darkness, you know they are leading you astray.

French is an interesting dude; nice guy for sure; but he childishly thinks that the GOP is about to have a come to Jesus moment (any day now!) when they realize, much to their shock and dismay, that Trump is a bad guy; he talks about a political party that does not exist anymore

There are too many of them out there in this same situation. And here is the irony: They want to dismiss GOP-Facism as abberation instead of inevitable consequene of underlying principle, because to throw those underlying political principles overboard is to jettison the exact same kind of comfortable certitude in political understanding that French argues in his column does need to be resisted in religious understanding.

And yet the SBC has voted to bar women from the pulpit (as ministers)

A plain reading of the NT would tell you that 1st person to go 'preach' about Jesus to others was the Samaritan woman at the well, who went and told her town about him -  long before he commissioned any man to do the same.

That's without even getting to Mary of Martha and Mary fame. Besides the big version of the NT came from an English King and the translation has been deemed questionable by some.

I still don't trust Saul/Paul...I wonder about ulterior motives in his letters...
