It, no lie, gets me extremely anxious, and even more so when I hear the audience laughing and applauding it. I find myself feeling like I want to scream. Yes, and sniffing kids' hair, too. It's mainly the attitude... that women are oversized children who of course need the guidance and firm but calming discipline from men. It doesn't always mean literally patting them on the head, though that's a stereotypical dismissive gesture that's seen with children. TBH it's best to keep your hands to yourself with people you don't know very well. 1 Quote

A statue of a desk, complete with an office phone, folders and nameplate with Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s name on it, was set up at 3rd Street NW, across from the Capitol. The desk was topped off with a larger-than-life, perfectly swirled poop. A plaque on the pedestal below the desk reads, “This memorial honors the brave men and women who broke into the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021 to loot, urinate and defecate throughout those hallowed halls in order to overturn an election. President Trump celebrates these heroes of January 6th as ‘unbelievable patriots’ and ‘warriors.’ This monument stands as a testament to their daring sacrifice and lasting legacy.” Quote

Say what you will about the Reagan era...they at least had an ear to the ground to being a governing majority. I think that will be this admin's undoing. I wish I were more confident than that. Quote

Having said that, Trump's margin in the house very well could be smaller than what the Rs had in this past Congress.... which is going to cause a lot of headaches and (probably) limits a lot of what he's going to legislatively. Maybe will have some success on tax policy, but things like ACA repeal or an abortion ban are off the table most likely. And the other thing feature that people forget about American politics is thermostatic reaction: Presidents are inaugurated, start to implement what they campaigned on, and public opinion often time flips on these very same issues. Trump himself isn't immune to it, it happened to him in Round 1 (which led a 40 seat loss in the House that time). Nobody should be surprised if it happens again. I appreciate your opimism, but Trump attempted a coup against the United States of America and the majority of the country is fine with that. It's not going to be easy to get back to any kind of normalcy and I don't think the country cares. 2 Quote

I'm not anymore optimistic than you are, to be honest.... but I'm also not going to pretend that trends that have existed in every single election cycle (ie. President gets elected, starts to implement agenda, public sours on them) don't actually exist. And that it didn't already happen to Trump once lol Quote

Eventually, people who think those things will be considered leftist freaks who just can't let go. Quote
