Tigeraholic1 Posted February 11 Posted February 11 A poster asking himself a questions seems a little unraveled IMHO. Quote
romad1 Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Seems this kind of person is useful now that they have to strong arm a bunch of GOP representatives. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted February 21 Posted February 21 This aged like milk in the sun. Also, it's embarrassing to know our elected leaders are talking and joking like this about other countries sovereignty. This is not appropriate behavior. Quote
LaceyLou Posted February 21 Posted February 21 I keep on thinking of the skit from To Be Or Not to Be.... with Mel Brooks as Hitler singing "All I want is peace-a little piece of Poland, a little piece of France...." 1 Quote

Too bad you didn't stay there when you were known as Raphael. Quote
chasfh Posted February 21 Author Posted February 21 (edited) By Ted’s standard, looks like Canada gets to keep their own nation. Edited February 21 by chasfh Quote

I saw a FB thread from an acquaintance of mine after the first matchup talking about how exciting it was and drawing parallels to the 1980 Olympics... and the entire time I was staring at the thread I was wondering whether they were oblivious to the fact that in the this parallel, our nation is the one playing the role of the USSR (as the aggressor nation). Really try to hard to compartmentalize sports and politics and all, but it was really hard to be anything more than ambivalent to how this game would turn out tbh. Which really sucks. I was having similar thoughts when ESPN was trying to force feed this into that narrative, playing Kurt Russell's Brooks speech, having Mike Eurizione narrate... of course if the US plays Russia today we know who the President is rooting for. I noticed an interesting thing at a breakfast among a bunch of older Livonian dudes...basically a group in their 70s who were a mix of political persuasions. They were all asking the AI for answers to questions. People appear to be using AI for this role. The more complex responses the better. Quote
