I’ll be impressed when there are any consequences for this.

It makes your head spin, Thomas can sign on to an opinion written by his wing man that looks to the guidance of a 12th century misogynist who believes women only exist as appendages to their men, all the while draping himself it the mantra that nothing his wife does reflects on him as there couldn't possibly be so much as influence in their marriage. I don't care if there is anything illegal there or not, the intellectual prostitution is breathtaking.

"for whatever reason"

I guess what we'll do now is know the problem, do nothing about the problem then statistically control for it so the results still look good.    and be racist as f

This dude is an MD

So when you are wrong, you know you are wrong, and objective reality demonstrates you are wrong, there is nothing left than to deny reality and create fantasy. The GOP is on the exact same road Putin has gone down. Those that would seek power while denying truth never have any other choice. But the Universe is an unforgiving place, and eventually she will crush those that deny what is, just like that convoy on the way to Kyiv.  The only question for America is whether the GOP will  fail in its denials of reality before or after it takes the US with it.

Newsweek: Kandiss Taylor Warns 'Death by Firing Squad' to Corrupt Officials at Rally

Thankfully the Republican Party hasn't gone as extreme as the Democrats wanting equal rights for transgendered persons, teaching an accurate portrayal of history to kids in school, letting Teachers set curriculum instead of parents, or allowing women to have bodily autonomy.

Or their minds are so clouded and closed that they don’t know they are wrong.

I remember several decades ago being surrounded by the thinking that black people have more advantages than white people because of affirmative action and whatnot, and if they are still in poverty or have higher death rates, that’s a problem of their own making, and “the rest of us” shouldn’t have to waste our tax money to unsuccessfully government-spend them out of a problem they don’t care to solve on their own.

That’s pretty strongly-established thinking in those circles, strong enough that they don’t have to go through the mental and psychic gymnastics of knowing one thing and saying/doing the opposite in the interest of group orthodoxy. A lot of people, particularly rank and file voters, who think that way do so honestly, for what that’s worth.

Speaking of Rupert Murdoch - one of the things in the reporting about the Aussie election is that Rupert's Down Under media is losing its political traction. They beat the drums hard for the Liberals (who are the conservatives) to no avail. Then again, Aussie voters seem more capable of learning than US voters  - as evidenced by Aussie gun reform.

They do have racism in Australia, but nowhere near our level, it's not baked-in like it is here and a big part of the gun rights narrative here is based in racism.  A big part of all our dysfunction in this country is baked-in racism.   The big bad "them" are coming to get you, so you better have a machine gun.......whatever "them" fits the argument of the day.
