I'm kind of surprised at all the support Eminem is getting from progressives considering his history with gays. Usually they want to cancel you if you use the wrong pronoun.

How do progressives support Eminem?

I'm not sure what you want from here but I'm not going down this rabbit hole.

What the hell are you even talking about??

Is that what that was about? Something from twenty years ago? Weird.

I mean, he's still putting out music using homophobic slurs and ironically the right is upset over his kneeling and the left is defending a homophobe.

Not going to debate Eminem. He may or may not be a homophobe. Regardless, I liked him thumbing his nose at the NFL and the idiots that demonized Kaep. I also like his music, which I also won't apologize for, although some of his lyrics are pretty cringeworthy. I also like some Kid Rock songs. Sue me.

You might be right we will never know. Do you think she hurt or helped him?

I don't think the non-Obama voter needed Palin to increase McCain's appeal, and I doubt if she drew much of the progressive women's vote, so I'd have to guess that based on her own negatives, she was a net negative for him

I think she helped him because the conservatives really were not happy with his nomination.  She drew in a lot of the people who later would make Trump the nominee.  I remember listening to Hannity doing a bit on his show where he was pretending to like him but then took it all back.  But her being on the ticket gave people like him the reason to get behind McCain.  A lot of those people stayed home in 2012.

After the war in Iraq pretty much any D would have won that year.

Bottom line: Don't know.

She may have pulled in some conservatives for him. And lost him some Independents.

But Obama was going to wipe them off the floor regardless.

But how many Independents did she lose?

Quite a few people were annoyed with her... simple-mindedness.

Or did it even matter because of Obama's popularity?

Remember how she came out of nowhere two months before the election? Seems like they thought they could sneak her in as a progressive pick before voters could vet her. She revealed herself as both a lightweight and a right-wing kook pretty early on, so I can imagine that she kept some moderate Republicans home on Election Day that year.
