But they don’t get credit for the gas prices?  Must be nice to pick and choose the metrics. Reminds me of fans who say “pitcher X is good if you exclude his games in April and July”.

Do you think the jobs just went away?  The covid pandemic and the governors shutting down business are what caused the job loss.  Its funny that people blamed Trump for doing nothing during the pandemic but now overlook what the governors did and blame Trump for shutting things down.  If I remember correctly Trump only did a two week shutdown at the beginning to try to get things under control.  Some state governors kept business down for months and some over a year in California.   For some people Trump is responsible for every bad thing that ever happened.

many of them could have without programs like the paycheck protection plan etc. Just because a one time event like the pandemic was the reason they had to shut down doesn't mean they automatically come back when it's over. Who knows what percentage might have or did fold, vis-a-vis the number saved by specific policy interventions. The was a story in the local rag today, that Zingermann's in A^2, which runs several food/restaurant related businesses probably goes under without the paycheck protection program.

You're correct that the jobs didn't automatically come back.  A lot of business couldn't survive the shut time.  I don't necessarily blame anyone for shutting things down.  During the pandemic I feel everyone made the decision they thought was best at the time.  Looking back some decisions were right and some weren't but who was to know at the time.  My point was saying that one person did something to lose all the job or create all the jobs is not correct.  The pandemic shutdown caused the big unemployment numbers and reopening the country caused the so called creation of jobs to lower unemployment.

You are the one who positively referred to a cartoon calling the pandemic the “good old days”.

And Biden also takes the blame when pandemic related things happen (like inflation to a large extent).

That funny but this one is more accurate...

Biden, One Big-Gas Mistake

The increase under Biden in 2021 can't be well-defended, for sure, but Trump certainly liked his Russian oil too. Especially near the end there.

FWIW, Russia's never more than 8% of all oil imports in any given year.

or another way to put it into scale, over the last few years annual imports from Russia have been roughly 10 days consumption. But it's a canard that environmental regs have stopped the frackers. Low prices closed down fracking. High prices will bring them back.

isn't it funny how Republicans think Republicans are awesome at the economy but everyone knows they suck?   The numbers don't lie.  At this point it's like the Lions thinking the Lions are sweet at winning superbowls.

You realize that the significant decrease in demand for oil caused by the pandemic was the primary driver of $1.75 gas in April 2020, right?

That's the point... You can't just pick and choose when to blame the pandemic based on how it reflects on your dear leader.

And remember at the low point the orange fella had the oil execs in the Oval Office promising that they would be taken care of. They were “hurting”

Christ on a Cracker...

It’s the kind of talk that you would hear in any old school barber shop filled with retirees and shop workers.  There’s a lot of idiots out there thinking “yeah why don’t we?”

Michigan Republican RJ Regan is the front runner to win a special election and be a member of the Michigan House of Representatives once he wins the special election. Tells his daughters if they are raped to lie back and enjoy it.

The religious right and moral majority really does believe women have it coming to them it seems. Notice how no one in the meeting calls his ass out.
