How does Mike Pence poll at 6% when he is . . . Mike Pence.   The violent MAGAs have to hate him.   The small nevertrump still in the Party group probably would rather throw in with Christie because he is in full DGAF mode.   I guess the Christian evangelicals who dislike Trump group is around 6% of the GOP primary voting pop?

Yeah, its a notable increase in his percentage.  He might be taking vote from Casey Desantis and her husbandoid.

I think it is a bit heartening to see his slight bump in the polls corresponding to him turning up the heat toward Trump.   This could encourage other republic candidates to so the same maybe

One problem is no one wants to be the first to sacrifice their career as a bomb-throwing do-nothing Republican by going after Trump.

Another problem is if they go after Trump and hammer him for his specific set of crimes, that removes the option of committing the same crimes.

I can believe there is some market for a strong evangelical who will play the game inside the lines. There have to be some small d democrat repubs left,  just not that many. If you assume "GOP" immediately limits you to <30% of the electorate, then 6% of that is less than 2 in 100 total voters. Probably for these folks their support was exactly contingent on him throwing Trump overboard ergo the bump.

I also wonder if that profile doesn't fit more GOP women than men.

I think a group of them would like to vote for Nikki Haley but she's an Other to them.

I think being a woman too actually helps.  They like that.  It gives them cover.

But she's flip flopped on Trump a few times.

It all comes down to someone getting Trump's blessing.  He'd have to annoint his successor.  He might do that to her because she's kind of a "pretty gal" and he could pretend he got sexual favors in exchange for it.  He could make some snide comments like "well you know it wasn't free, I'll just leave it at that".  If he picks someone else then a substantial amount of his support will transfer.  But I doubt he would and I am not convinced it would be enough to matter.

I think I may ask my local school system to ban the Bible from libraries. Stories of infidelity, incest, murder, mayham. Nothing under age children should be reading or even learning about.
